Sherona Treen

Sherona Treen I work with service-based business owners to achieve the change they want to see. I have been described as dynamic, driven, resourceful, and ambitious.

For almost 25 years I have worked at various levels of seniority with service-based professionals, business owners, directors, and executives. I am also fair, a good listener, positive and motivational. As a life-long learner I’m curious and love to try new things. Business owners come to me when they are ready to attain clarity, accountability, and take a proactive approach to their business obje

ctives, business planning, and implementation. Most business owners know what they want but struggle to find any time (or energy) to focus on themselves and work on the business. They want the freedom to explore what self-employment really means to them, but feel pressure to conform to goals, values, or purpose that might no longer be relevant. They may want to work less hours on more enjoyable work at their higher billable rate but lack control of their time to do anything about it. They might be unproductively plodding through always diarising time to do something about it but never sticking to it or implementing anything consistently. Consequently, they may feel demotivated, undisciplined, isolated, and then easily distracted. My offering

• Business Buddy – for solo business owners that need a consistent nudge to keep on track

• Success Session - one to one accountability coaching

• Momentum Day - quarterly group session providing protected time and space to re-evaluate what is important, identify goals and planning, and (crucially) make a start. You can review existing plans or start afresh if you wish. Click here to book https://treencoward.eventbrite.com

• Consultancy - working with business owners to review and identify ways to improve

If you are ready to engage in honest dialogue and plan the next stage of your development, establish outcomes, and address barriers get in touch to book a complimentary 45-minute discovery call where we discuss you and your business requirements. Telephone 029 2166 0534

Testimonial Time!

I was delighted to receive this lovely feedback from a coaching client.

**Thank you very much for all your support and guidance. Our sessions have helped massively with my personal and professional growth and have given me a further insight and understanding into the wide range of leadership methods and strategies which I will continue to build on going forward.** (June 2026)

My coaching and mentoring work always brings me a great deal of pleasure.

The learning is a shared experience not just delivered from coach to client. We can learn much from each other and I believe it is a privilege to share that journey of growth together.

My sessions are client led, focused on their challenges and aspirations, and what they bring to the session.

I work with middle managers and executives, newly appointed or highly experienced.

I understand how it feels because for almost 30 years I have walked this path myself.

If you are a middle manager, executive, business leader or owner and would like to know more about my coaching sessions, please do get in touch.

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

The plan versus reality.

As we approach the halfway point of the year, many business owners naturally start to reflect.

The excitement of the January ‘fresh start’ has faded and the reality is here.

🌱 Strategies discussed but not yet implemented
🌱 Projects started but not completed
🌱 Potential opportunities appearing alongside existing challenges

For many leaders, the challenges increase when the gaps remain unchecked, all adding to the pressure of maintaining momentum whilst managing day-to-day operations.

When plans remain just talk or decisions are repeatedly delayed without reason it is easy to become distracted by activities that do not move the needle but keep us busy.

Often, the most valuable thing we can do is actively stop, take stock of the current position, then act on what truly needs attention.

What needs attention in your business before the second half of the year begins?

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

One of the things I enjoy most about my work is the variety.

Meeting different business leaders, learning about different industries, travelling for work, and hearing different perspectives are all important to me.

The last few weeks have been something of a whirlwind; Buckingham Palace, several treks in Bannau Brycheiniog, the Welsh Three Peaks challenge, attaining my Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and catching up with numerous local business owners and leaders along the way.

And it seems there are more interesting things on the horizon too.

Yesterday, before a meeting, I took five minutes to sit down with a cup of tea and too many chocolate digestives.

I’m certainly guilty of not spending enough time reflecting on the good things or recognising how far I've come and just moving straight to the next challenge.

Only to realise, minutes before my meeting, that I'd forgotten my notebook 🤦‍♀️

Fortunately, being at one of the Workbench office locations the lovely team at OneBox Business Supplies Ltd. came to my rescue 😊

Whilst my work focuses on business operations, I've always taken a people centred approach.

Processes and systems are important, but building relationships come first.

There’s a big difference between solving a problem alone and having people willing to help.

Where are you based, and what do you enjoy most about your work?

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

Is the delay costing more than the decision?

It goes without saying that you shouldn’t rush into decisions of course.

But indecision, avoidance, questions that do not address the uncertainty, or chasing perfection all stall progress.

This can lead to missed opportunities and deadlines.

Penalties might not always be financial either as teams and client become frustrated and demotivated, or other resources are wasted and non-recoverable.

As a leader, the decisions will mostly rest with you, and this can be a constant source of fatigue.

Have a sounding board, even if fractional such as myself, can help.

What decision have you been postponing?

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

Processes rarely fail dramatically.

They tend to creak, quietly, under pressure, over time.

This might look like

· double handling of work (or duplication)
· inconsistent or non-existent comms
· persistent tweaking and adjusting
· repetitive mistakes that people overrule without remedying at source

Of course, the costs are neither immediate nor apparent.

The costs not entirely financial either.

Productivity, team morale and churn, and customer experience among other things all feel the impact as the wheels slowly grind to a halt and fall off.

These are just some of things I support leaders and their teams to resolve in their business operations.

Which process(es) cause the most frustration in your business?

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

One day. Three Mountains. And crucial funds raised for Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice

I’ve shared many images of me stood at the top of Pen y Fan, but this one is different.

Aside from the delightful Welsh, misty rain and unbelievably windy weather, the challenge lived up to its name.

I’ll be the first to admit I found it tough and my fitness wasn’t where I wanted it to be, but our reason for being there was never far from my mind. This was a commitment I made to Ty Hafan, the team around me, and ultimately to myself.

Completing the event was rewarding but it was a collective effort of everyone involved.

As I mentioned in my post last week, it’s so important for businesses, charities, and causes to work together and serve their communities. We can all contribute something such as our time, skills, experience, and support.

It was an experience I will never forget and will forever be grateful for the encouragement, donations, and support from everyone around me.

And of course, I finally got to catch up with Paul Fears whose kindness meant a lot to me on the day.

There is still time to donate, if you can, link in comments below.

It’s and just in the last few weeks alone I’ve had the pleasure of getting involved with the The King's Trust and Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice

I’m a volunteer business mentor with King’s Trust but also participate in their Explore programme, designed to support young people in achieving their goals. Among many things we get to have some fun days out like a hike in the Gower, and last month many volunteers (including me), ambassadors, and supporters were invited to a Garden Party held by His Majesty The King to celebrate 50 years of the Trust.

Today, I’ll be heading to North Wales to take part in the challenge in aid of Ty Hafan. Climbing mountains that have been on my bucket list for some time with the bonus of spending time with some fantastic people and raising vital funds for families requiring support.

Volunteering is a fantastic way for businesses, charities, and causes to work together and the benefits really are mutual, it's not all one way.

Support does not always have to be financial; giving your time, skills, experience and energy are just as valuable.

If volunteering is something you’ve been pondering for a while and not sure how to get started, don’t be afraid to reach out and be a little persistent if you don’t get an immediate response.

Happy Volunteering!

Why the leaders I meet are always so busy

When we finally pin down a date to meet, I know ‘busy-ness’ is going to be high on the agenda.

It sounds like constant interruption, reactive firefighting, planning and decision fatigue.

Of course, we will talk about time, team, and task management, but these are symptoms rather than causes.

Both leaders and their teams are so consumed by the everyday business among other things there’s little time for anything else.

‘Delegate everything’ is not the answer. Understanding operational capacity, ownership, and accountability helps us to get to the root causes and identify some solutions.

This isn’t just about efficiency, it’s about avoiding consequences such as slow or poor decision-making, missed opportunities, fed up teams, and frustrated leaders. Not to mention the clients and customers!

This is often where I come in as a Fractional Ops Director, giving capacity and structure to leaders and their teams to produce their best work.

What’s consuming more of your time than it should right now?

Leadership fatigue or an operational problem in disguise?

Many of the challenges business owners describe to me are rarely caused by a lack of ambition or effort.

More often, I see unclear ownership, poor accountability, inconsistent processes, or teams that have become overly reliant on one leader for direction on everything.

When all the planning, decision making, problem solving, and general management centres around one person, a bottleneck is quickly created that impacts productivity and performance among other things.

Leaders who are increasingly stretched become reactive and slow everything down and that creates more pressure for everyone.

Where are you feeling the most pressure right now?

I’m Sherona and I talk about business operational excellence, planning, accountability, and ex*****on among other things…

Whether you’re looking to streamline, grow, or better navigate your challenges, continuous improvement is key.

For me, there’s always something about walking that creates space for clearer thinking.

An early start. Fresh air. Nature.

This time a short bank holiday trek but restorative nonetheless with quiet time to reflect before the week ahead.

As our challenges draws near discipline is important, but that doesn’t mean motivation is always in plentiful supply.

I’m fascinated by adventurers and those who appear to go out and do it all alone. Yet, that’s rarely the reality. More often, there’s a super supportive ecosystem behind them making it happen as smoothly as possible.

We can’t train together all the time but the positivity within the group, combined with the shared purpose of raising funds for the incredible Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice, keeps us moving forward.

Together Everyone Achieves More 💪
