Homeward bound and reflecting on a truly wonderful week in Stirling at the How to Harp Retreat. A huge thank you to Heather Downie Harpist for inviting us to be a part of this very special event that she has created. It’s a joy to be in a room filled with harpists who are all encouraging and supporting one another. Great to spend time with the artists Catrin Finch, Amanda Whiting, Tamsin Dearnley and Angela Boraston and thanks to Katherine, Vincent and Pauline Ann for all their incredible organisational skills! Huge thanks as always to Jakez Francois from Camac Harps for visiting with a technician and for sponsoring Monday’s sensational concert!

It’s been almost 30 years since Amanda Whiting and I sat next to each other in Cardiff Uni’s Orchestra. Fun to be back together again giggling our way through a practice of Coriolis arranged by Heather Downie Harpist for the How to Harp Retreat ensemble recording!

The phenomenal Catrin Finch last night at The Tolbooth, Stirling, performing the deeply personal Notes to Self. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Truly an evening to remember!

We’re all set up to welcome harpists at the How to Harp Retreat in Stirling. The Camac exhibition is free to enter and located in the Hermitage Room at the Stirling Court Hotel, FK9 4LA. We’re open to the public as follows:
Monday 12 October: 3-5pm
Tuesday 13 October: 9am-5pm
Wednesday 14 October: 9am-12pm
Thursday 15 October: 9am-4.30pm
We have a large range of Camac Harps lever, pedal and electric harps available for you to try as well as harp music, strings and accessories. We look forward to welcoming you!

We're looking forward to heading to Scotland shortly and spending the week in Stirling at the How to Harp Retreat run by Heather Downie Harpist If you're not on the Retreat but would like to come along for a day then on Tuesday 13 October at the Stirling Court Hotel you can join us for A Day with Catrin Finch. Sit in on three masterclasses throughout the day as students of the RCS perform for Catrin, watch a live recording of the How To Harp Podcast as Heather interviews Catrin with questions from the room and then join us in the Camac exhibition for tea and coffee and the opportunity to try the Camac range or browse the extensive selection of harp music.
