Reflective Rebels

Reflective Rebels Coach for stuck people. Because life is to short to be sh*t. But what if you want to do things differently? That’s where I come in. Why work with me? Why me?

Let’s Explore How We Can Work Together

The world has a lot to say about how you’re “supposed” to do work and business: hustle harder, hit targets, follow the rules. What if you’re looking for joy in the process, calm in the chaos, and clarity in all the noise? I work with business leaders who are ready to pause, breathe, and reflect. Together, we’ll strip back the “shoulds” and the stress to unco

ver a way forward that’s truly you. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or quick fixes. Instead, I create a space for you to explore what’s important, rethink how you work, and reconnect with your purpose. This isn’t about setting goals—it’s about the bigger picture: the kind of life you want to build and how you want to feel while building it. My coaching isn’t just about business growth. It’s about finding more lightness, balance, and joy in what you do every day. Who’s this for? I work with people who are looking for something deeper than just profit. You want to create, inspire, and make an impact—without burning out or losing yourself along the way. Whether you’re growing your business, building a team, or trying to find your way back to the joy in your work, I’d love to help. I’ve been there—at the highs of business ownership and at the burnout stage, curled up at the bottom of the stairs wondering how to keep going. I know what it’s like to want more meaning, connection, and freedom in life and work. That’s why my coaching is grounded in empathy and creativity. It’s not about telling you what to do—it’s about helping you find your way forward. If that resonates with you, let’s talk. You don’t have to dive in headfirst—sometimes a coffee and a conversation is the best place to start. Email me at [email protected] to explore how we can work together.

You know when someone has got that thing they’ve always done? Not a career plan. Not a side project with a spreadsheet behind it. Just something they keep going back to because they love it.

Kim from was making pottery on her kitchen table for years. A kiln at her grandma’s house, and stock in the garage. She was working pubs, retail, teaching, sometimes all three at once, and still skint! But she kept spending her money on pottery equipment instead of house deposits.

When her grandma passed away and left her some money, Kim didn’t weigh it up. Every penny went into a studio...

Three years on she’s got three wheels, two kilns, a custom glaze lab, and a space where people walk in and the stress drops off their shoulders!

Kim told me she always felt like a puzzle piece that didn’t fit anyone else’s puzzle. Not in a sad way. She just never quite fitted where everyone else seemed to. And instead of changing shape, she built her own. The right people found her.

I think a lot of people running their own thing will recognise something in that.

New episode of Reflective Rebels live now. Thank you to Kim for being so open and funny on the sofa, and to Alistair at .media for the production.

You need to come for coffee with us!

If you’ve ever sat through a networking event wishing someone would just let you have a normal conversation, come and join us on 19th May!

A group of us are meeting at Sketch and Sip in Carlisle at 1pm for coffee and a catch up. No business cards, no forced introductions, no horrendous 60 second pitches.

Optional art activity if you fancy it, or just come for the coffee and the company.

Free to attend, but please message me to book so we know how many to expect.

A glorious morning at Book Club - deep chats, silly chats, soup, coffee and cakes 😊

Wow what a story! left school at 16 with no plan, fell into the flooring trade... then went self-employed at 21, opened a shop in 2014, lost everything in the Carlisle floods a year later, rebuilt it, got hit by COVID, moved to bigger premises, and just...kept....going.

35 years of doing the work properly, treating people right, and building something worth being really proud of.

And yet, Neil still admits in the latest episode of the podcast “It’s hard to enjoy a business though, it’s just constant.”

He wasn’t bitter or complaining, just being open about one of the parts of business most people I work with feel.... the pride that built everything for Neil is the same thing that makes it impossible to switch off.

This episode is a conversation about what it actually costs to build something you’re proud of, and a celebration of hard work and doing right by your customers.

thanks again to .media for making the pod with me!

On Saturday, Craig and I are cycling 28 miles, climbing Helvellyn and paddling 3km on Ullswater for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

It’s going to be brutal, and epic. I did it two years ago but was a lot fitter then. I only got my bike out the garage last week.

It matters so much more this time. I’m doing it for Craig and his partner Jen, who many of you will know, spent years as clinical lead at Eden Valley Hospice before her own terminal diagnosis. Jen’s just done one year of her cancer treatment, so this one is for her, and for Craig.

Eden Valley Hospice has to self-fund 80% of its running costs every year, millions of pounds raised through the generosity of people like you. Craig’s fundraising link is in the comments. I’m not doing my own link, just helping him raise as much as possible. And if you can’t donate, a share helps too. ♥

You’ve got a little cloud that follows you around, haven’t you?

That quiet worry about whether the next month will be the one where it all falls apart. Even when things are going well.

Lisa Jackson from knows that cloud. She also knows what it looks like to build something brilliant in spite of it.

After being made redundant three weeks before Christmas with no savings and no plan, she came home to Cumbria and started Acorn Marketing from nothing.

Fifteen years later she’s running a business she loves, she’s written a children’s book called Dr. April and the Rainbow Farts, and she’s carving her way back to the creative, arts-based work that lights her up.

She hasn’t figured out the juggle. She’ll tell you that. But she’s built something she’s proud of while being a mum, a carer and a business owner, and she’s done it without losing the parts of herself that matter.

The forecast for Wednesday is AMAZING and we are going to be outside in it.

Talkin Tarn, 29th April, 1-3pm. A group of us business folk, getting outside to mess about in the woods and learn from tree experts Jonathan Cansdale and Ray Cassidy. Not boring. Not scary. Just nice people, fresh air and proper conversation.

Five reasons to come:
1. Simple orienteering activities, basically finding your way to interesting spots in small groups
2. You will be gutted if you spend that sunny afternoon at a desk
3. Ray and Jonathan will change how you see trees and woodland permanently - how cool is that?
4. Small group means you actually get to know people, not just swap business cards
5. Two hours outside does something to a stuck problem that a meeting room never can

Free, but places are limited. Comment REBEL below and I’ll send you the link. ♥
