Drones in action at Greencroft! 🌱

We're exploring how drone technology can help us monitor progress and improve accuracy during ground preparation for woodland creation.

Using aerial mapping, we can identify vegetation growing on the mounds and spot any areas that may have been missed.

Next year, we'll look to use this technology to help identify areas where trees haven't established successfully and support our beat-up surveys, helping us identify where further planting may be needed.

It's another way we're combining forestry knowledge with technology to support successful woodland creation.

A Decade of Care. A Healthier Woodland.

Good woodland management is a long-term commitment, with different teams bringing their expertise together to support the work.

In Southwest England, our Silviculture and Harvesting teams worked together on a four-month project that seen approximately 1,000 tonnes of firewood removed as part of a wider woodland management programme.

A big thank you to Julie Minns MP for taking the time to visit our head office! It was great to welcome you, share our knowledge and expertise, and talk about the values that drive the work we do across the forestry sector. 🌳

Thank you for such a valuable visit and the opportunity to showcase what we do at Euroforest.

I recently visited Euroforest Ltd who are headquartered at Carlisle Airport to learn more about their work.

It was great to meet with David and hear about everything from woodland management and timber harvesting to the logistics involved in getting timber to market.

Timber is an important part of the UK's supply chain and will have a key role to play as we work to deliver the homes and infrastructure our country needs in the years ahead. It was useful to discuss both the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, here in Cumbria and beyond.

World Mental Health Day | 10 October💚

This World Mental Health Day, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our people and recognise the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.

Forestry can be a demanding industry, and we know that behind every job, project and busy day are people with their own challenges, pressures and experiences.

Sometimes, a simple “How are you, really?” can make a bigger difference than you realise. Whether it’s checking in with a colleague, making time for a conversation or recognising when you need to take a step back yourself, the little things matter.

Let’s keep looking out for one another, making time to listen and reminding ourselves that it’s okay not to be okay.

Night-time ash dieback works 🌳

Our team recently carried out night-time works for West Sussex County Council (WSCC) to safely remove dead, dying and dangerous ash trees affected by ash dieback.

The works required a full road closure, helping to minimise disruption to road users while providing a safe working environment for our contractors.

Working at night meant the team could complete the works safely and efficiently, while keeping disruption to a minimum.

A great example of the planning and care that goes into managing ash dieback and keeping our roadsides safe.

That’s a wrap on APF 2026! 🌲

What a few days it’s been!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Euroforest stand for a drink, a chat and a catch-up. It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces, meet new people and spend time with the wider forestry community.

We also loved having the chance to explore the show and see the incredible stands, machinery and displays from across the industry. And with the pole climbing competitions taking place just opposite us, there was never a dull moment! 🌳

A special thank you to A. W. Jenkinson Forest Products for once again sharing the stand with us. We really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making the show such a success, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again.

Thank you too to Bloomin Forests for letting us borrow some of their trees to help bring our stand to life. 🌱

And finally, a massive thank you to Izzy — our hostess with the mostess! She was a fantastic addition to the team and couldn’t have been more helpful. From keeping everyone topped up to making sure our visitors felt welcome, she was an absolute star.
