I thought it was probably time I told you the story behind Lady B Frame Designs. 🤍
Some of you have been here since the very beginning, and some of you have found me along the way, so I thought I’d share why Lady B means so much to me.
In May 2023, I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. I was absolutely over the moon. I’d always wanted to be a mum.
Then, on Friday 27th October 2023, at nearly 37 weeks pregnant, I went for my final scan.
There was no heartbeat.
On Tuesday I went into hospital, and at 12:34 a.m. on Wednesday 1st November, I gave birth to my beautiful little girl. 🤍
And 12:34 has always felt like something special to me.
For the last month of my pregnancy, I kept seeing 12:34 everywhere. I’d wake up in the night and it would be 12:34. I’d look at my phone during the day and there it was again. I couldn’t understand why I kept seeing it.
Then, after I’d given birth, I was lying in my hospital bed and the only thing I could think to ask was:
“What time is it?”
The nurse said, “12:34.”
She had been born at 12:34.
1, 2, 3, 4. 🤍
And then there’s the other part of the story — Lady B.
When we arrived at the hospital, there was a ladybird on her dad’s shoulder. He brushed it off, and then when we got into the room, there was a ladybird there too.
That ladybird stayed around while I was in labour. If I went to the toilet, it would crawl across the ceiling and wait above the door. It was above my bed for most of the time I was there.
And the second my little girl was born, it disappeared.
I know not everyone believes in signs or things like that, but to me, it felt like she was there in her own little way, making sure I got through it.
Her name began with a B, and the ladybird became part of the story too.
And that’s where Lady B came from. 🤍
On 4th January 2024, I made a little A4 frame to remember my daughter by. It had Dumbo in the middle, her name around it, and lots of little details about the day she was born.
I didn’t even have a printer at home, so I went to the local shop and printed the picture there.
I showed my mum, and she was the first person to say:
“You should make these.”
A few friends agreed, so I thought… why not?
The next day, me and her dad went out and bought a printer and some supplies, and that’s really where it all started.
My mum has been such a huge support ever since too. She looks after my little girl whenever I’ve got things to make, which means I can actually sit down and get orders done. I honestly couldn’t have done it without her. 🤍
And that was the beginning of Lady B Frame Designs.
It started with simple A4 frames, then came cards, then box frames, and eventually a friend of mine sold me her old Cricut machine.
She could quite easily have seen me as competition, especially as we’re in the same city, but she didn’t. Instead, she helped me take the next step with my little business, and I’ll always be grateful to her for that. 🤍
That Cricut opened up a whole new world for me, and now I can make all sorts of personalised things — not just frames.
But the name will always stay the same.
Because Lady B Frame Designs started because of my little girl, and that will always be the most important part of it.
And there’s another reason I still do it today.
Every penny I make from my sales goes into a little money tin. Every November, I open it, and that money helps pay for my youngest daughter’s birthday and Christmas presents.
Her big sister is, in her own little way, helping provide those presents for her.
And I think that’s something really special. 🤍
So that’s the story behind Lady B.
It started with a little girl I never got to bring home, but who gave me something that has grown into a little business I’m incredibly proud of.
Every sale still means something to me.
