Children have sequenced together on paper how a seed emerges, shoots & grows with soil, sunlight & water.

They have been observing their Sunflowers since they planted their seeds and now they are ready to go home for planting out...🌞

The Broad beans are flowering....

Our potatoes are being well cared for and ready for ridging this week. Children will learn to protect the tubers from sunlight, which stops them turning green!

Thank you to all the parents & extended family who came to support the children in their spring concert. It was lovely to showcase the songs that we often sing in the nursery and that tie in with termly themes. They all put in a super effort 👏.

The children also worked hard behind the scenes preparing a special VE cake to share with family over a "cup of tea". Whilst the significance of VE day was not explored at this young age, we did through cake decorating, explain how the union jack flag was composed of the Scottish, Irish & English flag. They did a fabulous job & 👏❤️

Thank you to Vicki for providing a slightly more professional VE cake 😅 & beautiful tray bake for everyone to share. Much appreciated by all 🥰.

Today we celebrated Chinese New Year 2025 - the year of the snake - "Ni Hao" 😊

The children prepared their own vegetables for our traditional Chinese stir fry. They had a bash at eating with chop sticks, tried new vegetables, and finished off their lunch with a yummy prawn cracker and a story about how Chinese children prepare for their New Year Celebrations.

Behind the scenes they have been making red envelopes, spiral snakes, dragon craft to decorate the classroom & traditional Chinese fans. Never a dull moment as we adapt our activities to embrace new topics 🥰

It's been lovely to welcome the children back to Nursery.

Today was National Teddy Bear day so we have enjoyed playing with our teddies inside and out, listening to the story of "The Teddy Bears Picnic", singing & moving to the Teddy Bear song and celebrating a birthday for one of the children with some yummy treats, which we shared with our favourite teddies from home.

This week marks the start of RED week. All activities to follow will be based around this colour.
