🟢🟢It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update on here, but there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes!
The last few months have been pretty busy, working on a good mix of projects — from new-build homes and renovations to commercial and civil engineering projects.
A lot of the work recently has been helping self-builders get a proper handle on their costs before and during construction. That’s included detailed take-offs, budgets, reviewing contractor quotations and helping clients work out where their money is actually going (and, just as importantly, what might have been missed!).
I’ve also been doing quite a bit of work on the contractor side — tender pricing, reviewing contract documents, variations, valuations, programmes and general commercial support on live projects.
One thing that keeps coming up is just how valuable it is to get the numbers looked at properly at an early stage. Whether it’s a self-build or a construction project, finding something before work starts is usually a lot easier — and cheaper — than finding it halfway through.
There are a few other things I’ve been working on in the background as well, which I’ll hopefully be able to share soon.
As always, if you’re planning a build or have a project underway and need a hand with the costs, feel free to drop me a message.
