🤔 What Did This Sell For? | Episode 3

CARTIER; a 1920s/30s Art Deco yellow and white gold multi gem set brooch modelled as a bird, the body formed of central circular malachite, with oval cut ruby eye and diamond set feathered head, perched on a yellow gold branch set with one small round brilliant cut diamond, inscribed verso 'Cartier, London, K5235', 6 x 2.3cm, approx 14.94g.
Provenance:
Private collection, Surrey.

🤔 What Did This Sell For? | Episode 2

An 18th/19th century Chinese brass figure of seated Buddha in meditative pose, raised on carved wooden gilt stand, height 22cm, height including stand 27cm.

Provenance:
The property of a Yorkshire gentleman collector, bought from London dealers in the 1950s. The majority of items were purchased from well-known dealer and collector Herbert Rieser who had a gallery filled with eclectic stock at 49 George Street, Marylebone.

The figure sold in one of our recent London auctions.

🏆 What sold for the most?

And the winner was...

The Fabergé cockerel sold for £31,000.
FABERGÉ, ST. PETERSBURG; an important jewelled gold mounted agate model of a cockerel or rooster, finely carved with diamond set eyes and chased rose gold feet, apparently unmarked, height 5.2cm, width 6cm, in original fitted Fabergé case.

Provenance:
This object has been in the same family of German origin for many decades and has passed to the current vendor by direct descent.
