A different one for us today on the bench. This Crimson pre-amp uses a shared power supply from the matching power amplifier and the owner wanted to isolate the two from each other. That being the case, we sourced a +/-15v dc power supply module to install in the pre-amp so that it can be operated separately. One of the pcbs had to be moved to make the space, but it dropped in place nicely.
Unit all powered and is working nicely, ready to go back to its owner.

Green Linn Classik on the bench today for displaying ErrA code on the display. The source and volume keys were also non responsive.
Initially the unit was recapped for longevity. Actual fault was traced to a defective input select ic which was shorting its 10v supply to ground. ErrA now gone with a new ic fitted. Now to Audio test.

Pair of elderly Philips speakers having an update! Crossovers recapped and new updated speaker connections fitted for extra longevity. Bit of testing now before final clean.

Sony 3 head cassette deck on the bench this afternoon with totally the wrong pinch roller installed! Unit successfully calibrated after the install of a correct pinch roller. Now undergoing testing before being made ready for the sales site.

Giving the soft brush and air duster a workout to remove the many years of dust build up from this Pioneer amplifier prior to fault finding! Both the green and black output devices seen attached to the heating were found to be short circuit...
