This week, colleagues across R&M showed off their baking skills in The Great R&M Bake Off, all in support of our UK Charity of the Year, Blue Cross. We could only share a small slice of the bakes on offer with you, but the creativity on display was undeniable. From animal themed showstoppers - foxes, hedgehogs, swans, bunnies, and more - to inventive flavour combinations, every bake brought something different to the table.

Teams competed for Best Tasting, Best Looking, and Best Named, with the Best Looking finalists going head to head in a UK wide vote.

Our congratulations go to our overall winner - Becky Willsher from our Fixings & Supports Division - who produced the Swan Song culinary masterpiece (pictured above).

Thank you to everyone who baked, judged, voted, or simply enjoyed the treats. Together, we raised £800 for Blue Cross and had a great time doing it.

When Solent Sky Aviation Museum discovered its electrical systems needed some attention, the charity found itself dealing with some unexpected costs. When alerted to the situation by Trant Engineering - a key supporter of the museum and a longstanding client of R&M - our Southampton Central Branch stepped in to help. Once they fully understood the situation, the team chose to go beyond offering ‘best price’. Instead, they donated and delivered the required electrical goods, completely free of charge. A small gesture from R&M, but a big impact for a local charity that’s been part of the community for 50 years.

Our Houston Branch and Exports Division were proud to sponsor a putting green at the 8th Annual Team Noble Charity Golf Tournament. Held at BlackHorse Golf Club in Houston, the event raised funds in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It was a great chance to boost our brand presence among some of the key industry movers and shakers in the area, while giving back to a truly worthy cause.

Our Dubai business first opened its doors in 2006 as a Joint Venture with Wholesale Electric of Houston, Texas, which was an exciting chapter that marked our entry into the region. Over the years, we built strong relationships across the oil and gas market, expanded our capabilities, and established a solid foundation that continues to support our growth today.

In 2016, we turned the page to a new era. After concluding our regional partnership with Wholesale Electric, we launched a fresh Joint Venture with Siraj Naybur - R&M SN Electrical FZCO - with a clear focus on serving the Iraq market. This strategic move has proven to be a tremendous success for all involved, and our collaboration continues to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to every team member, past and present. Your hard work, dedication, and spirit have shaped the business we are proud of today.

R&Mers voted to support Blue Cross as our Charity of the Year🐾, and we’ve just wrapped up our first fundraiser - the R&M Darts Competition🎯. What started as a fun idea quickly grew into an incredible global event, with more than 120 R&Mers taking part across eight sites in four countries.

Each participating site hosted its own competition, with winners going head-to-head in a virtual inter-site final. After some impressive darts action, Hans-David Keldring proudly claimed the trophy on behalf of our branch in the Netherlands.

Most importantly, together we raised over £800 for this fantastic charity, which was a brilliant start to a year of meaningful support for Blue Cross 🐾. And we’re just getting started. Our next fundraiser is already in the diary: a company wide Bake Off. Time to preheat those ovens!

Here’s to more friendly competition, more fundraising, and even greater impact throughout 2026. 💙
