Although I am currently running at capacity, I anticipate this will change as families self isolate and others I work with that are involved in the education system likely to stay home.

So, in light of the current situation and with school closures expected to be imminent. I would like to do my part and offer a space where and when I can, to any NHS WORKER who requires childcare, FREE OF CHARGE. I am a fully insured, Ofsted registered (rated good) childminder with all relevant qualifications and lots of experience!

This would be a temporary, part time arrangement based upon what becomes available and can be used on an ad hoc basis for as long as I remain open. I am willing to adapt my working day to include unsociable hrs where possible. So please, feel free to share this, bear my offer in mind or drop me a msg if you may be interested. Sending lots of positivity and kindness to everyone at this time.

I'm very proud to finally be able to share my first Ofsted Inspection since being registered. During her visit the inspector said that I did very well for a first time inspection, that I was a 'Strong Good' and should continue to aim for Outstanding next time!

I'd also like to say thank you to all the parents who provided such lovely references (which hopefully I might share on here soon).

October was Black History Awareness Month in the UK and I wanted to find ways to incorporate this into our daily play throughout the month. These were a few of the ways we did it:
*We held our own , playing traditional instruments and listening to world music. This flowed into talk about the Notting Hill Carnival, getting dressed up and creating our own procession around the house πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ•ΊπŸΏπŸ’ƒπŸΏ
*We focused part of storytime πŸ“š on the books we have that represent people of colour and their stories. We also added to this with a trip to the library.
*The children were fascinated by some of the more exotic fruits in Fruits, A Caribbean Counting poem, so we went to the supermarket to see which we could find 🍍🍈🍌.None of us had tried a pawpaw before (I may even have had to Google 'how to prepare a papaya' πŸ˜‰) but all agreed it was delicious πŸ˜‹
