SHA is Hiring Associate Occupational Therapists | London | Excellent Rates

SHA are currently recruiting Associate Occupational Therapists to join our team across Greater London.

We are looking for HCPC-registered Occupational Therapists with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and strong experience in:

• Equipment provision and major adaptations
• Moving and handling
• Assessing people within their own homes
• Producing clear, professional assessment reports and recommendations

We are particularly interested in experienced OTs who are confident working independently and comfortable managing their own caseload.

We offer flexible associate opportunities and excellent rates of pay, with the support of the wider SHA team.

☀️ When the temperature rises, occupation changes too.

We hear a lot about the health risks of extreme heat.

But what about the occupational impact?

Poor sleep. Increased fatigue. Reduced mobility. Changes to routines. Less time outdoors. Difficulty concentrating. Greater reliance on others. Reduced social participation.

For some of the people we work with, a heatwave doesn't just make life uncomfortable — it can change what they're able to do and how they do it.

It raises an interesting question for us as OTs:

🌡️ Should the impact of extreme temperatures be a more routine part of our occupational assessment and intervention planning?

• Shower chair assessments
• Complex case management
• Working collaboratively alongside care agency staff

This role is ideal for autonomous and independent practitioners who are confident managing their own caseload and working alone.

This year’s SHA CPD and Away Day at Wheelfreedom in Chessington was a really positive and inspiring experience. The day was well run and thoughtfully facilitated by Jordan Davies, with valuable hands-on learning and time to share ideas and experiences.
