Taste of England's finest: Crouch Ridge W**es & British Cheeses

Yesterday our customers were enjoying a whole new tasting experience at Crouch Ridge.
There are few food and drink combinations more naturally sociable than w**e and cheese. But while the classic image might take us to a French vineyard, a Burgundy cellar or a European cheeseboard, there is another story worth exploring — one that is happening right here in Britain.

At Crouch Ridge, we have brought together three w**es from our vineyard in the Crouch Valley with three characterful British cheeses to create a new tasting experience: English Cheese & W**e Pairing.

It is a celebration of what Britain does exceptionally well- producing distinctive w**es and outstanding cheeses, often from relatively cool-climate conditions that encourage freshness, acidity and flavour.
And the really interesting part? Taste the cheese on its own, taste the w**e, and then taste them together. This is when the tasting magic happens! Come and try for yourself.

We’re delighted to introduce our latest additions to the Crouch Ridge Cellar Book — a collection celebrating the character, diversity and quality of English still w**es.

Chardonnay 2025 – Rich and beautifully rounded, with white peach, tropical fruit and refreshing mineral freshness. (14% ABV)

Pinot Gris 2024 – Elegant orchard fruits, ripe pear, apricot and delicate spice. Proud recipient of Bronze at the Essex W**e Awards 2026. (12% ABV)

Pinot Noir Rosé 2025 – Delicate salmon pink, bursting with wild strawberry, raspberry and a refreshing citrus finish. Also awarded Bronze at the Essex W**e Awards 2026. (13% ABV)

Pinot Noir Reserve 2023 – Silky and refined, with wild raspberry, red cherry and subtle vanilla spice from nine months in French oak. (13% ABV)

Pinot Noir Red Reserve 2025 – Deep ruby in colour, with generous blackberry, blackcurrant and warming spice, rounded by a smooth, velvety finish. (13.5% ABV)

Two grape varieties. Six very different expressions.

How many different w**es can you make from just two grape varieties? At Crouch Ridge, the answer is: quite a few!

Our new Expressions of Crouch Ridge tasting invites you to explore just how dramatically the character of a grape can change through different w**emaking techniques and styles.

Across six w**es, you’ll discover three very different expressions of our sparkling w**es, alongside three still w**es — white, rosé and red. Each w**e begins with grapes grown on the sun-drenched slopes of the Crouch Ridge Estate, yet each reveal something quite different in the glass.

From the freshness and elegance of our sparkling w**es to the vibrant fruit of our rosé and the deeper character of our red, this is a chance to taste the versatility of the vineyard in one sitting. Your tasting will be guided by our Head Sommelier, who will bring each w**e to life with tasting notes, stories from the vineyard and an insight into what makes each expression unique. And, naturally, there will be a cheese or charcuterie board to enjoy alongside the w**es.

Whether you’re a seasoned w**e enthusiast or simply curious to discover more about English w**e, Expressions of Crouch Ridge is designed to be informative, relaxed and, above all, enjoyable.
