Our footfall figures gives a snapshot of activity across the Cheltenham BID zone and help us understand how visitor numbers change throughout the year.

📈 September footfall insights:
- Wednesdays were a popular day in September 2026, with footfall increasing by 3.2% compared with the same month last year.
- 1pm is peak time for footfall
- Saturday 26th September was the busiest day in the town centre

📊 You can also look into and compared with previous months.

It helps us identify trends, measure the impact of activity and events, and build a clearer picture of how people use Cheltenham.

🧹 Need a little extra help keeping your area looking its best?

In partnership with EcoClean Environmental Ltd, we’ve created a more flexible way for BID businesses to access targeted cleansing services when they need them.

So far, 26 cleaning requests (RFCs) have been completed for businesses across the BID zone. 🙌

From persistent litter and spillages to high-footfall areas that need a little extra attention, you can submit a cleaning request through our website.

✨ Don’t let where you begin in life define where you end up.
Julie Kent’s story is a powerful reminder that life doesn’t always go to plan.

Today, hosted by Willans LLP solicitors we welcomed our new CEO Julie Reader-Sullivan 💚 and heard from the inspirational Julie Kent Mbe ☕️

Her experience ranges from her appointment of High Sheriff, receiving an MBE for services to education, and supporting young people and charitable causes through the Emily Kent Charity.

Her own experience of cancer, has shaped her outlook on life, a reminder that none of us knows what tomorrow will bring.

Through her work, Julie has helped create opportunities for 60 girls aged 13–15, giving them confidence, skills and a glimpse of what their future could hold.

Her message is simple but powerful:

Live for the day.
Live every minute.
Give freely.
And never let your starting point define your destination.

Thank you to all BID attendees who turned up 💚

Yesterday, we also said an emotional farewell to Chris Brooks as he begins his well-earned semi-retirement. As our longest-serving BID team member, Chris has been a true fountain of knowledge when it comes to Cheltenham town centre, and his passion, experience and commitment has been invaluable over the years.

Known as the "Grandad of the office", Chris has been a much-loved member of the team, always ready with advice, insight, and the occasional story. His presence, humour and expertise will be greatly missed by everyone who has worked with him.

While we're sad to see him go, we're certain this isn't goodbye. We're sure we'll still spot Chris around town, putting the world to rights and keeping a watchful eye on the place he knows so well.

From all of us, thank you, Chris, and enjoy your retirement. You've earned it 💚
