🌿 Meet Glossoloma Puroanum! 🌎

We’re celebrating the discovery of the fifth newly discovered species to be named after Puro, a wonderful result of the ongoing work to protect precious habitats and their incredible biodiversity.

Glossoloma Puroanum was discovered by John Clarke on the eastern slopes of the Ecuadorian Andes, within a reserve protected through the work of Puro and World Land Trust. 🌿

The plant belongs to the Gesneriaceae family, which includes familiar houseplants such as African Violets. It’s a fascinating creeping plant with colourful flowers that appear to grow upside down! 🌸

Discoveries like this are a reminder of just how much life exists within these forests and why protecting these habitats is so important.

Here's a question for HR and People teams:

Is coffee listed in your employee benefits package? It should be.

Not as a perk. Not as a "nice touch." As a genuine, considered benefit alongside flexible working, mental health support, and a positive physical environment.

Here's why we think this:

Research consistently links caffeine with increased focus, improved mood, and reduced mental fatigue. That's not marketing, it's pharmacology. Your team is going to drink coffee. The question is whether they do it well, or whether they do it from a vending machine in a cold corridor.

Beyond the individual cup, a well-considered coffee offering does something harder to measure: it creates moments. The 9am round. The catch-up over coffee. The 3pm reset.
