Another fantastic Thursday morning at Chester BNI, and this week we got to see two of our members demonstrate their skills rather than simply tell us about them.
For our 10-minute presentation, our photographer Ray Jones gave us a live food photography demonstration using a gorgeous chocolate cake supplied by The Red Rose Cake Company
Ray began by showing us how the cake looked using the existing ambient light before introducing his professional lighting. Seeing the difference between the two images appear on screen really brought the demonstration to life.
As he photographed, Ray talked us through his thought process, choice of angles and how he uses light to transform the way food looks. It gave us a much better understanding of the work involved in professional food photography and, importantly, the types of businesses we can introduce him to, including restaurants, hotels, cafés, bakeries, chefs and hospitality businesses.
The cake then became this week’s door prize, won by Sauren Ghosh. before eventually finding its way to Charlene Louise Bonar as a lovely birthday surprise!
And the demonstrations didn’t stop there.
Congratulations to Gail Biddolph, winner of this week’s Best 60 Seconds. Gail enlisted the help of Richard Hadlow Powell to demonstrate her skills during her presentation, making her 60 seconds memorable, engaging and very deserving of the win.
That’s what our weekly meetings are all about. Learning what our fellow members actually do, understanding who they want to meet and becoming better equipped to recommend them when the right opportunity comes along.
If you’d like to experience BNI Chester for yourself and meet a room full of local business owners, we’d love to welcome you as a visitor one Thursday morning.
