Composites Evolution introduces a bio-based version of EvopregⓇ EPC300 prepreg system.

Bio-based EvopregⓇ EPC300 has the same processability, performance, and aesthetics as standard EvopregⓇ EPC300 but with the benefit of 20% renewable raw material content.

Bio-based EvopregⓇ EPC300 can be supplied with industry-standard carbon, glass, and aramid fabrics, or with Bcomp Ltd’s ampliTexⓇ flax for an even more sustainable composite.

Introducing Evopreg® EPC205 epoxy prepreg system, a new thick laminate technology from Composites Evolution for use in component manufacture.

A visual-quality epoxy component prepreg for laminates up to 50 mm thick has been developed by Composites Evolution. It can be cured in a single shot using a conventional autoclave or press curing technique, with a low risk of exotherms. The material is readily available and, like all other materials in the Composites Evolution EPC series, has durable handling and excellent tack properties.

Jonathan Coyney, Penta Patterns, Composite Leader, commented: “EPC205 has great workability and provides a visual surface finish to match.”

Adam Smith, Karma Composites, Director, added “Karma Composites was able to create a bespoke thick section tool in a single shot whilst achieving all the necessary mechanical properties which would have been challenging to accomplish with a different resin system.”

Composites Evolution is excited to be announced as the official prepreg supplier for the ‘67 by CHARGE CARS.

Driven by achieving visual perfection, Charge Cars teamed up with Composites Evolution to utilise our Evopreg® EPC300 range of component prepregs. This resulted in Evopreg® EPC300 with carbon fibre becoming the material of choice for the ‘67’s bodywork, due to its ease of lay-up and the excellent surface finish achieved straight from the mould.

Charge Cars said: “Composites Evolution has been a fantastic support for the ‘67 by Charge Cars. Offering us a range of knowledge and materials to support all aspects of our vehicle builds.”

We are proud to unveil our new Senior Leadership Team!

We have appointed Brendon Weager, Gemma Williams, Mike Harrison & Rochelle Helliwell to the team that will work alongside Clockpress’ Chris Barnes and Sam Kirk to drive the business forward.

As part of the change the original founder and owner of Composites Evolution – Gordon Bishop – is stepping away from the company.

The team’s primary focus is to accelerate the implementation of the new vision and strategy, with the ultimate goal of establishing Composites Evolution as the number one partner for specialist prepregs, through world-leading innovation, sustainability, customer service, and responsiveness.

New and existing customers will have a chance to meet Mike & Rochelle on the UK Pavilion at JEC World in Paris, 25-27 April 2023.
