Hope Show is one of the major summer shows in Derbyshire and the Peak District giving an opportunity for large crowds of those who enjoy farming and the countryside to meet & celebrate the year just gone. It is held every August Bank Holiday Monday with the Sheep Dog trials lasting into Tuesday.

GRASSLAND AERATOR & SUBSOILER DEMO - organised by Don Catchment Rivers Trust and Catchment Sensitive Farming

FREE event about managing compaction and maintaining your grassland for better soil health, improved resilience, and greater productivity.

This FREE event features a talk by grassland and forage advisor, Charlie Morgan (Grassmaster Ltd), and aerator and subsoiling demonstrations by Aerworx and Sumo. There will be the chance to ask questions and to get a close look at the demo machinery.

25% of SFI26 Window 1 funding gone already!

Window 1 opened yesterday for farms under 50ha or that aren’t currently in a scheme and 25% of the budget has been applied for already. If you are wanting to apply in window 1 we would recommend doing this as soon as possible or you will have to wait until the second window opens in September.

The first window has a much smaller budget but also a much smaller pool of eligible farms, which means the second window in September could be just as quick to go if not quicker. If you are wanting to apply in September you need to decide in the next few months which options you want and where as once the window opens there might not be time to make big decisions.

They have confirmed that applications with a delayed start date of up to the end of February 2027 can be applied for when the window opens in September so make sure to include this in your plans.

We expect there to be similar interest for the capital grants when that opens at some point this month, so again make sure you know what you are applying for before it opens.
