A little reminder of who's behind VA Room! 😊

When you work with me, you're not just handing over a list of jobs and hoping they get done.
I like to get to know your business, how it works, who your customers are and what's important to you.
I ask questions (probably quite a few at the beginning! 😂), I take notes and I like to understand what I'm doing rather than just ticking things off a list.
I take the responsibility of working with your business seriously.
I'm fully insured, registered with the ICO and take confidentiality seriously too.
But above all, I'm passionate about what I do. When I'm working with your business, I care about it as much as I would my own. I want things to go well, I want your customers to be looked after and I want to do the best job I possibly can.

And that's pretty much what VA Room is all about. 😊

Sometimes you can see exactly where you want to get to... Its just everything in between that's getting in the way! 😅

Running a business can be a bit like that.

You know what you want to concentrate on, but then there are customers to get back to, quotes to follow up, admin to sort and all those other jobs that still need doing.

That's where having some extra support can make a real difference.

I work with businesses to help with those everyday jobs. Looking after customers, following up enquiries, keeping on top of admin and making sure things don't get forgotten.

It means they can spend more time concentrating on the things that really need their attention.

Sometimes you don't need to do everything yourself to get where you're going.😊

You never really know what's going on in someone else's life.

Someone can turn up for work, answer the phone, have a laugh, post on social media and look absolutely fine.

But that doesn't always mean they are.

So maybe today is just a reminder to be a little kinder.

Check in on people.

Ask twice if they're OK.

And if you're the one who's struggling, remember you don't always have to say you're fine.

Just look out for each other. 💚

Don't promise what you can't deliver
If you can't get something done by Friday, don't say you can just because you don't want to disappoint someone.
Be realistic.
Most customers would rather hear an honest timescale than be promised something that doesn't happen.
And if you can do it sooner... even better! 😊

When you're busy running a business, something usually has to give...

The phone rings while you're in the middle of something.
That customer you meant to get back to is still waiting.
The admin gets pushed to tomorrow... and then tomorrow becomes next week. 😅

It's not because you don't care about those things. There are only so many hours in the day.

That's where I can come in.

I support businesses with the day to day things that still need doing. Answering calls, looking after customers, following up enquiries and quotes, keeping on top of admin and generally making sure things don't get missed.
This doesn't have to mean committing to loads of hours.
Sometimes a business just needs a few hours of support. Sometimes it needs something more regular.

Either way, it's about giving you a bit more time to concentrate on running your business.

And actually, that's quite a good description of what I do.
I might be following up a quote, speaking to a customer, updating information, sorting out some admin or making sure something hasn't been forgotten.
I'm not necessarily the person your customers see, but I'm there in the background helping to keep things moving.
And I think that's one of the things I enjoy most about being a VA.
Getting to know how a business works, understanding its customers and becoming someone my clients can rely on.
It's not always about doing the big things.
Quite often, it's all the little things happening behind the scenes that make the difference. 😊

There’s always light at the end of the tunnel...

I took this little video recently and thought, there's a business post in there somewhere! 😂

Because running a business isn't always plain sailing.

Some weeks everything seems to fall into place.

Other weeks you're juggling a million things, plans change, something doesn't quite work out and that to-do list just keeps growing.

But you keep going.

And sometimes you just need to remind yourself to look up and see how far you've already come.

The light is there... even if some days it feels a little further away than others. 😊
