🥳Celebrating our patients
😊Patient Story: Simon Busk
⭐First visit: 2006
I first saw Jamie when he took over the practice 20 years ago as I was already a patient.
I have had back problems for 42 years after a motorbike accident and it used to be that I would see Jamie about every 8/10 weeks as I started to get niggles or got up one morning and couldn't stand up! But for years now I have been visiting the practice every month, which is more proactive and I don't have the "can't stand up mornings" anymore.
Jamie was and is different to other Osteopaths I have seen, his knowledge of anatomy way surpasses his Osteopathic training and he has continued improving his knowledge all through the 20 years I have known him.
People think that Osteopathy is just for "Backs" but I quickly realised that if I mentioned another ache, pain or concern Jamie would sort it, often suggesting exercises to help as well. I do a few minutes of exercises for my back every morning since he advised me to many years ago.
In one of our very early sessions I walked in with a really bad headache, he asked me what was wrong and just said he "would sort the headache before attending to my back" and he did! If only you could bottle that?
A couple of years ago I asked Jamie if he would put together some daily exercises for my general health as he knew my strengths and weaknesses and I had experienced problems going to local gyms and picking up injuries. He did this for me and it has been a revelation, 15/20 minutes each morning and I can't believe the difference.
Jamie is a very calm, likeable chap and I talk to him as an old friend after all these years during our monthly sessions. He genuinely cares, is a great listener and always has a suggestion or thought on how to proceed. In fact about 10 years ago he gave me advice about a shoulder operation I needed which means I still have the full use of my right arm, so I am in his debt.
⭐I cannot recommend the Alma Practice highly enough, they keep me upright, mobile and working. Jamie is a great Osteopath and I am still seeing him after 20 years because he is.
Gila runs the practice and is a great help and they both run training courses together in the UK and abroad now as well.
