I think it’s my favourite use of space yet: homely, with a calm, focussed and curated order that is enjoyed and organised but not too neat.

Past copies of architectural magazines in folder holders -hand labelled in the 80’s- & reference books line a wall, next to a drafting table where the sunlight falls onto intricate pencil line plans. Material samples form a row atop a handmade unit - all along side modern CAD technology.

‘The light from the double windows was a draw to Forum’ Simon tells me and ‘the fact you can catch a glimpse of the Cathedral spire a bonus.’

Several light options have been added surrounding the 3 workspaces, which I imagine in the seasons where less natural light comes in, will make this simple room, cosy.

Hanslip & Co. have expertise in conservation, sensitive repair & adaptation, restoration & redevelopment of Listed buildings as well as the design of new buildings in historic settings, with ecclesiastical buildings being a specialist area for the firm.

and being in ‘a satellite office’, the main Hanslip team being based in London.

The most beautiful space transformation at Forum House is that of ‘Bibiluxe Studio’.

From this calm creative working studio, beautifully bespoke wedding dresses are thoughtfully designed & skilfully handmade to order.

Slow fashion in its most stunning form; every stylish, minimal & modern design is hand cut & personally tailored to each bride’s wishes by Barbara & her small team of UK seamstresses.

Barbara has created a dedicated bridal area within her studio to offer booked appointments, where the collection & tailored pieces can be tried on, materials felt & styles explored.

We love having Bibiluxe Studio as a client of Forum House & if anyone can show the possibilities of how to tailor a blank space to your business it’s Barbara.
