Irish-Horses-Direct Our horses and ponies are carefully sourced, mainly from breeders and producers, as well as private homes.

We look for excellent temperaments, honest types, quality and ride-ability.Most off them have been hunted, and /or been to pony club in Ireland. They are ridden in Ireland before they come to the UK, which allows us to find out what they are like. They are hacked alone, ridden in open spaces and jumped over various types of fences.Working with our many customers we do our best to match the right horses to riders / owners, with a view to establishing the right combinations.

I bought our horse Bob from Irish Horses Direct after seeing him out with the Avon Vale Hunt in Wiltshire last October.
I was looking for a horse to share with two of my boys who are both keen hunters one aged 18 and the other 14, I have yet to hunt him as my 18 year old immediately feel in love with Bob and I never got a look in. Bob has jumped absolutely everything my son has put him to. He is the easiest horse to have on the yard and has no vices, I had been told that when I bought him, and it was true ! Bob has now competed in many Hunter Trials and has always gone clear, he would jump any height !!! It was a very easy and extremely pleasing buy.

Saffie is a 6 year old 16.1 skewbald mare who is a superb all-rounder and would make a lovely horse for anyone wanting to hunt or do general riding club activities. Although green with her schooling she has a great ‘work-man’ like attitude and always tries her best. Saffie has whipped in for the last two seasons in Ireland and is a great hack both in company and alone, never strong or silly. She will happily jump over any type of natural or coloured fence. £3950 OVNO

ANKARA (Ash) ISH 6yr old gelding - bought July 2011. A hunting friend introduced me to irish horses having mentioned I was looking for another horse, I made several visits to their yard to see him & ride him & then have him vetted, he has a fantastic temperament and settled in with the other horses at home. I took him hunting last season and was amazed he was very laid back and no pulling but took it steady as he was only 5, I aim to go hunting again this season & not worry about jumping as we have been going clear round show jumping up to 3 ft, and we are planning to do some hunter trials, I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a horse/pony.
