That was the challenge facing the Royal Borough of Greenwich across two new council housing developments.

Limited space. Challenging logistics. A tight deadline. And 133 new homes needing protection from flooding. 💧
Those were some of the challenges facing the redevelopment of School Hill estate and West Hill Avenue in Castletown, Isle of Man.
With little room for above-ground attenuation solutions and specialist products and expertise needing to come from the UK, NK Construction needed a solution that could simplify the process.
That’s where Wavin StormForce came in.
From technical design and overseas logistics through to supply and installation, Wavin provided an end-to-end solution using AquaCell Core R and AquaCell Plus R attenuation tanks beneath the development’s roads.
The finished solution helps protect the development’s 133 new homes from flooding, while managing stormwater out of sight.
A great example of how the right expertise can turn a complex water-management challenge into a complete solution.

A big project comes with big installation challenges. 🏗️
At St George Beaufort Park in North West London, RPM Services needed a robust soil, waste and vent system across five high-rise blocks containing 343 apartments, commercial space and underground car parks.
With thousands of electrofusion joints to make, installation time and the potential for errors were key concerns.
Wavin helped tackle both, combining our durable Wavin HDPE system with a new prototype peeling tool that was 4x faster than an ordinary hand scraper, helping save many hours of labour across the project. A newly developed electrofusion coupler also supported the installation, with safety and speed front of mind.
A practical solution to a very real on-site challenge.

But before you turn that thermostat up, give your heating a little Autumn Heating Check:

🌡️ Check your thermostat
♨️ Make sure your radiators are heating evenly
👂 Listen out for unusual noises and look for leaks
✅ Check your boiler pressure against its instructions
If something doesn't seem quite right, or your annual service is due, get it checked by a suitably qualified heating engineer.

🏠 Two days of great conversations about building better homes and stronger communities.
The Wavin team had a brilliant time at the JPS Mission: Better Homes and Communities event at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people working across social housing, new-build development and repairs & maintenance, hear about the challenges facing the sector and explore how working together can make a real difference.
A big thank you to everyone who came over to chat with the team and to JPS for a great event.
Oh, and apparently the surprise star of the Wavin giveaways was... the hand warmers! 🙌 Who knew? 😄
