Well technically its still October! You might not know this but its ADHD awareness month!
Got something to tell you guys! I've got a dose of ADHD! Had it while, my whole life in fact! I was diagnosed way back in 2015 but being a private person and also nobody was really talking about it back then. But things have changed, and I have changed. Fully accepted it, and to hell with keeping to myself.
"But you don't look like you have adhd? You seem so calm"
Like the Swan on the lake (as if I'm that graceful!) Things look smooth up top, but underneath I'm paddling like crazy!
Its not all about hyperactivity, I'm fact I have the inattentive version, which is a w**k name, cos I have plenty of attention, just not the appropriate attention at the precise time it is needed!
It's just a label , everybody wants a diagnosis these days!
Trust me! If I wanted a label it wouldn't be this one! Not that I'm ashamed, but it's a lot of effort actually being adhd let alone pretending to be!
Christ this post is getting long, and I know everyone has adhd these days lol, so I'll wrap it up!
How can I some up adhd? It's like having an automatic car that's constantly hunting for the right gear. Revving high, revving low but never quite fully in the optimal gear. It's like having a young dog and you've spent time training it and you've nearly.gpt there and then after 2 weeks it goes and runs off.
There's heaps of negatives , the biggest one being the inner critic and self hatred, when you don't seem to perform.
But also huge benefits! Adhd'ers are funny, spontaneous and some of the most creative problem solvers going . Give us a problem to.solve and a bit of pressure and we'll come up with multiple solutions!
So I've rambled on! If you know me in real life come and chat with me about adhd. It will me and you both good!
Final message! Be kind to yourselves!
