At Fairport, our strength has always come from the hands, minds and experience of the team behind the refurbishments we provide and today, we’re proud to introduce just a few of them from our Norther Depot.

🔧 Our Refurbishment Operatives
The heartbeat of our workshop process. Their craftsmanship, precision and pride in turning used and damaged steel into reliable skips for reuse trusted across the industry.

🤝 Business Development Manager Chris Porter
Building relationships, opening new opportunities and ensuring our customers always receive the support they need. Chris is the bridge between our workshop and the waste industry — helping us grow sustainably and serve better.

🏢 Depot Manager -Mel
The organiser who keeps our operations running smoothly. From logistics and production to customer service and day‑to‑day coordination, nothing leaves the depot without his oversight.
Together, they represent what Fairport is all about: quality, collaboration and real people doing great work.

🌟 Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026! 🌟

This week, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible value apprentices bring to Fairport.

Apprenticeships open doors for people of all ages by combining hands‑on experience with professional development and helping businesses grow new talent from the ground up.

We’re proud to have supported a number of students over the years, and today we’d like to highlight one of our own: Elliot.

Elliot has had an amazing career journey with us so far. Joining Fairport over nine years ago through a local apprenticeship programme, he worked tirelessly to achieve his Fully Qualified Welder status within five years. From there, he moved into a full‑time position within our Recycling Banks team, gaining valuable experience and proving himself as a committed and capable member of the team.

Just over two years ago, Elliot achieved his first promotion, stepping into the role of Supervisor for the division.

Elliot’s story is a brilliant example of why apprenticeship schemes are so valuable for students, for businesses, and for the future workforce. He’s now a fully fledged member of the Fairport family: hardworking, supportive, and always ready to get involved, especially when it comes to our fundraising efforts. He also helped out our Marketing team by posing in out latest shoot (see cool video)

Now it’s our turn to support him. Elliot is fundraising for Nerve Tumours UK and will be taking part in a sky dive on 4th July 2026.

Fairport are proud to stand behind Elliott, our Recycling Bank Supervisor, as he fundraises for Nerve Tumours UK. 💙

Elliott will be supporting Nerve Tumours UK - CommunityUK because their mission truly matters to him. They provide vital support to people living with the Neurofibromatoses—the conditions that cause nerve tumours.
These are dominant genetic conditions, which means they can be passed down through families. But around half of all cases appear with no previous family history at all. In other words, it can happen completely “out of the blue.”

Nerve Tumours UK works tirelessly to ensure that no one faces this alone. 💙
If you can, please help him strengthen their incredible support for those who need it most.

Elliott will be taking part in a sponsored sky dive on the 4th July 2026. More details to follow.
