This week’s BNI meeting was a powerful reminder of the value in really understanding one another’s businesses.

💭We focused on what others should be listening out for when thinking of you. Those key trigger points, conversations, and opportunities that make it easier to pass quality referrals. Because when your network truly “gets” what you do, the right introductions happen naturally.

🥳 We also took a moment to celebrate one of our own Matt Bessent who took on the London Marathon on Sunday in support of Rosemere Cancer Foundation a charity which is close to our room.
An incredible commitment, and a brilliant example of the passion and purpose that sits within our network.

Business, support, and community all in one room, exactly what BNI Endevour is about.

Great 10-minute feature presentation this week from Jacob Knowles from Empine Group Ltd 👏

What stood out wasn’t just what they do, but how they do it.

🤖In a world that’s becoming increasingly automated and AI-driven, they’ve doubled down on something many businesses overlook, personalisation that actually feels personal.

Not just print for the sake of it, but tailored, thoughtful marketing that connects with the person receiving it. The kind that makes you stop, look twice, and actually engage.

It’s a good reminder that while technology keeps evolving, the human touch still cuts through the noise.

Really interesting insight into how print is far from dead, it’s just being done better.

Why not pop down and visit our BNI chapter and have a chat with Jacob and the services they offer ☕️

Yesterday morning at BNI, we had a brilliant 10-minute feature presentation from our website and branding expert Adam Fletcher from Pixelmate 👏

One thing that really landed with the room… your logo and website are working for you even when you’re not in the room.

Adam talked about recreating and modernising older logos, and how many businesses outgrow their branding without even realising it. But it’s not just the logo, your website plays just as big a role. It’s often the first place people go to check you out, and within seconds they’ve already formed an opinion.

If your branding feels outdated or your website isn’t reflecting the level your business is operating at now, you could be losing opportunities without even knowing it.

It’s a powerful reminder that:
👉 Your logo builds recognition
👉 Your website builds trust
👉 And together, they tell your story when you’re not there to tell it yourself

Definitely one of those presentations that makes you stop and think… is my business showing up the way it should be?

If the answer is no, why not pop down to our next meeting and have a chat with Adam Fletcher over coffee and breakfast 🍳

Most people in networking are asking the wrong question…

“Who can I pass business to?”

Today at BNI Endeavour, we flipped that completely.

Instead, we asked:
👉 Who is your ideal client?
👉 What does a perfect introduction actually look like?
👉 Who do we already know in this room that fits that?

And everything changed.

Our round tables session wasn’t about the usual format it was about getting specific, intentional, and honest about where we add the most value.

Because not all referrals are equal.

The right introduction at the right timeto the right person…
That’s what creates real business.

You could feel the shift in the room. More clarity. More alignment. More synergy.

That’s the difference between networking… and a referral network that actually works.

If you want to be in a room where people really understand your business and actively look out for opportunities for you come and visit BNI Endeavour.

Another early start, more coffee than is strictly sensible, and a room full of business owners who actually want to get better at what they do. That was this week’s Endeavour BNI meeting in a nutshell.

Martin Newton, shared his view on lifelong learning as a core value. Businesses don’t stall because people stop caring. They stall because people stop learning. Skills date. Thinking gets lazy. Curiosity disappears. Martin’s reminder was simple. If you want your business to keep moving, you have to keep developing yourself alongside it. No shortcuts, no finish line, just steady progress.

We then heard a 10-minute feature presentation from Kieran Dieghan of Automation Guaranteed. He walked us through how they design and install gates, barriers, doors and entry systems for both domestic and commercial clients. What stood out was the emphasis on reliability and doing the job properly, because when access systems fail, the consequences are immediate and usually expensive. It was one of those presentations that made you think, I now know exactly who to call when this comes up.

This is what Tuesday mornings at Endeavour look like. Practical learning, clear insight into each other’s businesses, and a room full of people actively looking for ways to help one another grow. If that sounds like your kind of start to the day, you’d fit in just fine.

So this week’s Endeavour meeting was our monthly round-table session. No formal education or feature presentation. Instead, we worked in tables of four, proper conversation, and a bit of honesty about how we actually work together.

Our monthly round-table meeting is a stripped-back version of BNI, designed to give people time to talk rather than perform. Often, those conversations zoom in on individual businesses and where they want to improve. This time, the focus shifted.

We looked at how we can be better referral partners by doing more meaningful 1–2–1s and getting clearer on each other’s target audiences.

What came out of it was refreshingly practical. People shared what helps them spot a good referral, what information they actually need in advance, and where assumptions creep in. We also surfaced a few sensible ideas for improving how we onboard new members, so they get up to speed faster and feel part of the chapter sooner. That kind of thing matters.

We also paused to celebrate Martin Newton’s 60th birthday. Martin’s been part of BNI for almost 20 years, which means he’s seen just about every version of networking culture come and go. There’s something grounding about having that level of experience in the room. And yes, cake was involved. This is still a civilised operation 🤣

Meetings like this are a good reminder that strong chapters aren’t built on slick pitches. They’re built on understanding, trust, and people taking the time to actually learn how to help each other. Sometimes the best progress happens when you stop presenting and start talking.

If that sounds like your kind of Tuesday morning, you know where to find us.

January always brings that quiet pressure to reset everything. New goals. New plans. New versions of ourselves that last until mid-February.

This week at BNI Endeavour, Lee Kendall leaned into that idea by talking about one of his favourite core values, Traditions and Innovation. He linked it back to the very human habit of January goal setting. The tradition stays. The way you approach it evolves. A useful reminder that progress doesn’t always mean ripping everything up and starting again.

We then heard a sharp 10-minute feature presentation from Michelle Harness at JMG Insurance.

She explained why cyber insurance needs its own policy, because business interruption cover usually doesn’t touch it. She also highlighted how many businesses are quietly under-insured, often to shave a bit off their premiums. The sting in the tail is pro-rata payouts. If you undervalue your assets by 20%, expect your payout to shrink by the same amount when you actually need it. That usually focuses the mind.

Good conversations, useful learning, and a solid reminder that boring topics often matter the most when things go wrong.

Another Tuesday morning well spent at Endeavour.

Happy New Year from everyone at BNI Endeavour!

Another year of early starts, proper conversations, solid referrals, and a room full of people who actually want to see each other’s businesses do well. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday morning, all things considered.

Here’s to 2026 bringing sharper focus, stronger relationships, and plenty of opportunities to help each other grow.

We’ll be back at The Oak Royal, coffee in hand, doing what we do best. Building businesses, one week at a time.

This week we quietly accepted that Christmas had won and wrapped up our final BNI Endeavour meeting of the year in a slightly more relaxed style.

Fewer formalities, more laughs, and a special guest appearance from the big man himself 🎅, who took charge of a Christmas quiz and reminded us that competitive instincts do not switch off just because there are mince pies involved.

We also did something that actually mattered. A raffle raised over £250 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, with Chris Hayes walking away as the winner and everyone else leaving with that warm feeling you get when a room full of business owners does something genuinely decent before 9am.

It felt like the right way to end the year. Relaxed, generous, and still very much about the people in the room. Same energy next year, just with bigger goals and fewer festive jumpers!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at BNI Endeavour 🎄
