We have another catalogue in the works for this coming Monday's auction, here are some sneak peeks from our upcoming auction to show you what to expect.

Next, going from left to right, we have the Martin & Co XC1T Ellipse Cut Away Electro-Acoustic Guitar, With Case and Strap, this is a valuable guitar that is worth a fair amount of money. After that is the Vinatge Slingsby Royal Company Sack Truck which can be a very useful piece of equipment.

We had a good and spooky auction this week, but the only spooks came from the amazing prices we got for some of the items in our auction. And the Chorley Auction House ghost, he's spooky too. Here are a few of the items that sold the best;
The best selling item of the week was a Mid-Century Ercol coffee table which sold for £150, and in general it was a good week for Mid-Century furniture with a G-Plan footstool selling for £65. Mid-Century furniture appears to be in fashion, especially anything of Danish design. Much more of this style furniture will be in the auction house, so this is a good way to get your hands on it for a reasonable price.
Also selling well was an art deco bronze Diana Nemorensis & Artemis sculpture signed by Pierre Le Faguays. Diana and Artemis are the Roman and Greek Goddesses of hunting, usually depicted with a bow and arrow. This is a fantastic piece, and also explains why we had so many deer skulls and taxidermy in the auction, it's no coincidence.
A Boosey & Hawkes B&H 400 Silver Tone Four Valve Euphonium sold in the auction for £85. Brass instruments can be good sellers, especially a high quality one like this one. Although I spent a long time trying to understand the difference between a tuba and a euphonium. The results of my research was that tubas are bigger than euphoniums, if anybody has an idea how better to differentiate them let me know in the comments.
Lastly a very special lot, it was my lot of the week. A heavy duty precision spirit level, which sold for £45. I didn't know spirit levels could sell for that amount, but Harry reassured me after a long anecdote about his engineering past. Very specialist equipment.

I hope you all enjoyed a Halloween themed auction this week. All the usual goodies on offer, but a few Halloween decorations spread out amongst them. And we had some scarily good prices for a majority of items, but the ones that didn't sell have gone through to the timed sale. Or as I call it the slimed sale haha. Here are a goo of the items there;
Firstly we have two Silver USA coins, an 1891 Dollar and a 1924 Dime. USA coins seem to get better prices than UK coins, mostly because UK coins are more common here. The condition of these coins are a bit worn, but still worth the value in Silver and a good place holder for a collector. Until they find one in better condition.
Also in the timed sale is an abstract carved African root warrior figure. This is an unusual piece, tribal artwork is usually a good seller for us. Mostly because it's so eye-catching, and different to western artwork. And this piece is a great example of that.
Another lot in the slimed sale is a selection of JK Rowling books. Some rarer editions of books here for any Potterheads, maybe some details or insights to be gained from these editions of the books. And what better way to celebrate Halloween than some wizarding adventures.
Lastly we have a cow's backside Child's seat in the slimed sale. This is a good piece for a child's bedroom, there is some repair work to one of the legs but still a sturdy stool, sure to last the years.

We have a new auction containing ~900 lots coming this Monday, the catalogue for which, will be out in a few hours. We have some intriguing lots this time, and some cool ones, to show you what to expect, we picked some random lots to highlight.

The first highlight is the Burr Yew 8 day Comitti of London Westminster Chime Wall Regulator Clock which is quite the expensive piece, it has been checked and seems to be working just fine.

Next to the clock is a very unusual piece, the Detailed Abstract African Root Carving of a twisted Tribal Warrior which is difficult to discern it's actual form because it's so abstracted from any normal shape.

As Halloween is also coming up, we thought it appropriate to sell some lots like this Selection of Halloween Painted Decorations, they look groovy and like they are fresh out of a Halloween-themed fair ground.

We also have a fair amount of numismatic lots, like this USA Silver 1891 Dollar and a 1924 Silver Dime, we also have a few folders containing collections and selections of various coins, be sure to check them out in the catalogue!

Finally, we have a lot of furniture crowding the show room this time, a nice and interesting piece that we have would be the Victorian Wrought Iron Folding Tile Topped Garden Table.

It was an interesting auction this week, not quite as many lots as previous weeks and some items that didn't sell as well as you'd expect. But among that a few surprising items that sold well, here are a few of those;
The best selling item in the auction this week was an Ercol Bosco oak TV cabinet, which sold for £170. This Ercol piece looks like a more modern piece compared to other pieces of Ercol we get in which look a little more retro. This more contemporary look must have been popular, unusual that this piece sold and the three piece Ercol suite we had in the auction didn't.
Another piece which sold well was a Swan Flight heavy duty road trunk, selling for £75. This is handy for transporting any heavy equipment, examples being DJ equipment or dead bodies. Jokes aside a very professional and heavy duty piece of kit.
Also selling for a good price in the timed sale was An Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 600 Fishing Reel, this sold for £50. We had our fair share of fishing equipment in the auction, this being the best selling among them. We can get good prices for fishing equipment, so please bring them in. When you do ask for Harry he's our resident expert.
Lastly we had a selection of Warhammer 40k figures in case which sold for £35. Warhammer figures are very collectable and still have a huge fan base, so this is a great item for somebody who plays Warhammer or somebody to sell on to Warhammer players.

It was an unusual sale this week, not as many lots as usual and the main focus of the week was to get through a backlog items. So in that respect it was a successful week, there are plenty of items to be found in our timed sale though. Here are just a few;
Firstly we have a stamp book with a catalogue value of over £11,800. This is great for a collector with some rare stamps to be found in this book, but also a stall owner. With plenty of value to be found by splitting it up and selling some of the stamps individually.
Also in the timed sale we have a selection of three fishing reels. We had a large amount of fishing items in the auction with the majority of them selling well, so we must have a few fisherman that show up on auction day. Like Earth, he loves nothing more than catching a few carp on a Sunday evening.
Next in the timed sale we have a Pallesgaard of Copenhagen Denmark long cased clock. Some clocks can sell very well, but it depends mostly on the style, condition and size. This is a beautiful clock and in good condition, so worth the money even if it's a bit cumbersome.
A vintage McIntosh Modula wall unit is available inn our timed sale, this is a stunning and stylish piece. This is the style of piece that you plan your room around, rather than just being a piece of furniture in a room. A very nice retro piece that deserves a good home, and a long think about interior design.
Lastly we have a 10 gallon aluminium milk churn, these items usually do well because there's so many possibilities for them. Your imagination is the limit, but most people's imagination ends with either a planter or a lamp.

We have a new auction being finalised right now, the catalogue for which, will be released soon, for now though, you can view 5 sneak peeks right here.

First up is the Precious Isis Ladies Watch with Mother of Pearl Face and Silver 925 Strap.

Next to the watch is a lot that the original owner has analysed and valued to be worth a total of Approx. £11,800! It is of course a Stanley Gibbons Stock Book With a Large Selection of British Stamps From 1841-1990. Contains Used and Mint Stamps, Checked for Watermarks and Perforations Where Necessary. It Includes Some High Value and Rare Stamps (SG L231 5s Mint Telegraph, SG 194 6d Dull Green, SG 151 1s Olive Brown, And Much More. The previous owner provided a list of valuable stamps which can be seen in the pictures on the catalogue.

We also have some nice figurines and statuettes like this Large Nao by Lladro Porcelain Figures of Ballerina's.

As far as furniture is concerned, we have some stunning pieces, large pieces and even unusual pieces like this Pair of Vintage 1980's Plexiglas and Chrome Framed Staking Chairs. We also have collector's standards such as this Mid Century G-Plan Astro teak and tiled top nest of tables.

This week was a successful auction in general, with a few unexpected items getting good prices. And with over 900 lots in the auction there was always going to be some big sellers amongst everything else. Here are a few of the best sellers;
The best seller of the week was A Rolex Tudor 17 Rubles Mechanical Watch selling for £300. Tudor is a sister brand to Rolex, so offers the quality of Rolex at a more affordable price. Obviously a lot of the price in a Rolex watch is the brand recognition behind it, but if you're looking for a reliable good quality watch this is a great example.
Also selling well was a pair of designer Habitat 'Whistle' vases which sold for £190. These are an unusual pair and thus got a good price, and having a designer associated with it always helps with the price and provides more information to the buyers.
Another lot that sold well was an original oil on board by Bob Vigg. This was in the auction last week but didn't sell, this week however sold for £120. Sometimes it takes an auction for the right buyers to come, the buyers on a week to week basis has little variations.
A selection of 100+ 1970's/80's pieces of sheet music sold for £90. Sheet music can be expensive and difficult to come by, this is perfect for and learner musician, or a band that wants to learn some new covers. The benefit of sheet music over something like ultimate guitar is that it's officially licenced by the artist.
Lastly we had an oak cased Mid-Century grandfather clock with barometer, selling for £70. This is a fantastic piece that would look great in any living room, if you're willing to put as much care into it as the previous owner clearly did. The problem with pieces like this is that even though they look grand they're too big for many modern houses and also impractical, but that's the price of a changing world. I am also too big for modern houses, I'm 6 foot 5 inches

Another week with over 900 lots, but with a fair amount fewer unsold lots which is a good step in the right direction. And most of the unsolds are good quality items, so plenty of bargains to be found in our timed sale, here are just a few of them;
We've had a lot of luck with Gold watches in the past few weeks, and we have another Gold watch in the auction this week. There's some bids on this item already in the timed sale, so you've got to be quick to get your hands on this one. It is a lovely watch, and hopefully goes to someone with a passion for watches, rather than somebody only interested in the Gold.
In the auction this week we have a lovely print by Norman Wade depicting Prebends Bridge in Durham. Norman Wade seems to be a popular artist at auction, and by that I mean there's evidence of him selling at auction. As opposed to the artwork by local amateurs we regularly get. Maybe somebody from Durham who moved away could buy this to remind them of home.
A selection of four vintage Indian books are in the auction this week. Even though I can't read these books the artwork in them is very colourful and beautiful, as you would expect from Indian artwork. Definitely an interesting lot, it's not often we come across Indian books but they are pretty niche.
Lastly we have a full set of Harry Potter books, with the Tales of Beedle The Bard. We had a few more lots similar to this in the auction which all sold, no surprise since Harry Potter is still very relevant in pop culture. There are bids on this lot already in the timed sale, so act quickly if you're interested in this lot. Also the best Harry Potter film is Prisoner of Azkaban.

We have a new catalogue soon to be released with over 800 lots for you to browse.
Th catalogue should take another hour or two to be created and curated, so before then, we have some highlights for you.

First up, you can see the Framed and Glazed Collection of James Bond Printed Photographs with printed signatures and below that is the Elis Bergh for Kosta Smokey Glass Vase marked to base B435/314.

On the right of the framed pictures is the Rolex Tudor Oyster 17 Jewels Mechanical Watch With Leather Strap and Presentation Box.

We also have a Specialized Dolce Aluminium Framed Road Bike which comes with some accessories.

Last but not least, we have this neat 70" Vintage Art Deco Ceramic Blackamore Four Branch Lamp with separate Ceramic Base.

Overall the auction this week was a good one, some interesting results as usual and some expected results too. Electronics sold well, and the higher end ceramics sold well too. Here are a few of the best results from the auction;
The best seller of the week was a boxed iPhone XS Max. Although this phone isn't up to the standards of new flagship phones (The newest iPhone is the iPhone 15) it is still a quality product as all Apple products are. And this phone can still run iOS 17 the newest version of iOS, so you're not missing out on newer software benefits. This sold in the auction for £210
Another electronic item that sold well was LG 43UQ75006LF LED HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV. This is a modern and up to date TV, better than most of the TV's we get in the auction. A very crisp and clear display, so you can watch Doctor Who's 60th anniversary specials in ultra HD. This sold for £100.
A Tibetan bronzed deaths head mask sold in the auction for £80. Unusual items always do surprisingly well, usually because there are always items we get in the auction every week. Something unusual catches your attention immediately, like Earth (He's pretty unusual).
Lastly we had our fair share of Beswick figures in the auction, the best selling among these was four highland cattle figures which sold for £60. And these are some cool guys, although I preferred the Koalas. But at least most were different Beswick figures and not the normal horse figures (we did have a few of those in too).
