It was great to leave Planning Committee in Swindon last night with approval for 2 new dwellings in Blunsdon. It was a shame that the Parish Council waited until the 11th hour to withdraw their objection to the officer recommendation for approval as we could otherwise have had the decision back in February!

We had our first site visit of the year yesterday to advise in respect of Listed Building issues... and the sun was shining!

Another planning success for the Plan-A team! This time, for a new Potton self build dwelling within the Vale of White Horse District. The site is located within the Green Belt and there were a number of hurdles to get over in securing this consent.

Thanks to Cotswold Transport Planning for their help with addressing the highways concerns.

We’ll definitely be keeping tabs on this one as it progresses and look forward to visiting once it’s built!

In these days when it usually takes an age to get a decision on even the simplest of applications, we think we may have achieved something of a record for a condition discharge application... Having received the validation letter at 8:44am this morning, we then received the decision notice discharging the condition at 12:32!

Last up, introducing Lydia Pywell our Marketing and Design Manager.

Since joining the company in April 2021, Lydia has worked closely with the team on re-designing the company website and social media platforms. As well as working on the company rebrand, part of her role as Design Manager includes providing technical design drawings to assist relevant planning applications. Outside of work, Lydia runs her own Stationery businesses, enjoys drawing, running and being by the sea.

Today as part of our 'meet the team week', we are introducing our Office Manager, Penny.

Penny has a Science and Healthcare professional background and following a career break, her journey with Plan-A began. She has been a member of the team since 2015 and she enjoys the challenge of day-to-day office administration, invoicing, book-keeping/accounts and implementation of new IT systems. Outside of work, Penny enjoys running, singing and spending time with family and friends.

Today we introduce Fiona Martin...

Fiona has six years experience in the Planning Industry, three of which were spent in the Local Government before she started with Plan-A in June 2018. Fiona has enjoyed the opportunity to work collaboratively at Plan-A on a variety of different projects. More recently Fiona has been working on self build projects for replacement home schemes and individual dwellings. Outside of work, she enjoys allotmenting, baking and walking her dog.

Nicky is a chartered town planner with extensive experience gleaned from working in both private and public sectors. She has been with Plan-A since September 2014 and is often involved with some of our more complex cases, where she enjoys working closely with clients to identify an appropriate strategy to help achieve the ultimate goal. Outside of work, Nicky enjoys yoga, singing, hill walking and water skiing.
