Great leaders help people grow.

They willingly share what they know and look out for learning opportunities for the people they work with (or the people who work for them).

They build up the team and foster strong relationships, rapport and cooperation within that team.

Leadership involves having to make courageous decisions and then having the courage to live with the fact that not everyone is going to understand or want to keep moving forward with you. Only be strong and courageous. (2 Chronicles 32:7)

Is there a clear PURPOSE in everything you and your team are working towards?

What are the Goals, Vision, Values and are the whole team aware of them?

The coaching development programme for me was exactly what I needed at this point in my career, through the one-to-ones with Kiki and the group sessions with the other team members and Eleni I not only learned new techniques and ways of thinking, but also how to overcome certain situations by hearing other’s experiences and relating them to situations or conversations I have in my life was a huge help.

I would say when I started the programme that confidence was my biggest challenge that I needed to tackle, and I can comfortably say that I have improved hugely in that area.

Having awkward or uncomfortable conversations about pay or job roles etc. which I would hate beforehand and if possible, would have most likely just avoided completely in all honestly, but they are now not something I would hide away from.

I have been surprised to notice parts of my development and growing confidence that I possibly would not have noticed before, if it hadn’t have been for the coaching sessions with Kiki.
 
What was 3 of the biggest impacts you made in result of coaching?
1. The ability to recognise my achievements – big and small.
2. To consider situations I would have previously approached with apprehension, with confidence instead and to view them as a learning experience.
3. Thinking of solutions / resolutions to things that were previously holding me back.

EXCUSES - they get in the way don’t they?

They seem to pop up this time of year when the nights are dark, it’s cold and New Year’s resolutions are just a distant memory.

Well, excuses are just in the mind, and you are capable of much much more.

We can’t let them beat us, we need to remove that negative inner voice that frankly lies to you to stop you getting to your dreams, well not anymore!

Here are 3 tips to remove them:

* Think of the real reason they get in the way - try to identify it and work with it to overcome it. For example, if it’s fear of failure, think what’s the worst that could happen? So what if I fail, I tried

* Don’t think, just do. Getting up to do some exercise for example? Don’t think, just naturally do it, put your gear on and go, think of other things, trick and distract the mind

* Never end a sentence with ‘but…’. There is no ‘but’ I’d like to do… no buts, just do it! You won’t regret it!
