This colourful Nok Air certainly stood out on the apron following touch down. With its distinctive bird-inspired livery and the summer sunshine, it provided a fantastic photo opportunity.

Thanks, as always, to photographer Graham Wasey for capturing another great set of images for us.

Aircraft maintenance rarely comes with a history lesson.

Recently, removed the engines from
M-FTOH on behalf of a customer who has acquired them for spares as the aircraft enters the next phase of its life. Engine removals and changes are a routine part of what we do, but opportunities to work on an aircraft with such a remarkable history are far less common.

Originally delivered to Kuwait Airways before being converted for service with the Kuwait Royal Flight, M-FTOH survived one of the most turbulent periods in Middle Eastern aviation history. She was seized during the invasion of Kuwait in 1990 before eventually returning to service.

After retiring at Cotswold Airport in 2016, her story continued in a different way, capturing the public imagination through appearances in numerous film and television productions.

As engineers, we're privileged to work on aircraft of all types. But every so often, a project reminds us that these aircraft are more than engineering masterpieces. They are part of history, carrying stories that span decades, continents and generations.

We're proud to have played a small part in the latest chapter of
M-FTOH's story and helped prepare the way for whatever comes next.

On International Women in Engineering Day, we’re celebrating the women whose work empowers engineering teams to perform at their best — including our newly promoted Deputy Maintenance Manager, Laura McGeoch.

Laura has been part of GCAM since its inception in 2016, bringing over 16 years of aviation experience to our organisation. Her leadership in maintaining accurate, compliant technical records is essential to the safety, reliability, and regulatory strength of our engineering operation.

Engineering excellence isn’t achieved by engineers alone — it relies on skilled professionals like Laura, whose expertise ensures our maintenance activity is documented, traceable, and audit‑ready.

Her promotion reflects her commitment to mastering the complexities of a highly regulated MRO environment and her unwavering support for our technical teams.

Congratulations, Laura — and thank you for the vital role you play in GCAM’s success.

Aviation is at its best when passion meets precision.

This collage is made entirely from photos taken by engineers — the professionals preserving, inspecting, maintaining, and preparing transitioning aircraft every day. They live and breathe aviation, and it shows in both their work and the moments they capture along the way.

Today marks a significant milestone for our team as we oversaw the successful departure of an aircraft returning to service after an extended period in storage.

Our engineers completed a comprehensive programme, including detailed inspections, system reactivation, functional checks, and full regulatory compliance. Restoring an aircraft to operational readiness is always a meaningful achievement, and this departure highlights the capability, precision, and reliability that delivers for our customers. Thank you to everyone involved for their professionalism and commitment throughout the project.

We remain focused on supporting operators with safe, efficient, and dependable maintenance solutions as their fleets continue to evolve.
