Forewarning for people

Have had a park doing works on vans water mains this winter and turned water back on to check for leaks.

So some of you that have had drain downs are going to come back to find your vans have bursts.

Seen first couple of casualties already and parks denying it all.

Morning all,

Just want to clarify a few things I've heard and seen over the last few weeks

Servicing your gas boilers IS recommended, if someone tells you that they don't need doing is having a laugh or are stupid (we don't service these as they are all electric components)

If this is the case then why does it have a service checklist in the manual?

A gas safety check annually is NOT a service. Think of an MOT for your car, you don't get the oil changed unless you ask for it as an extra, so please don't get these confused and don't believe anyone telling you otherwise.

The soldering of gas pipework is now prohibited on caravans and lodges inside and outside. Anyone doing this needs a slap. A hot works permit needs to be provided and all paperwork given to parks offices too.

Someone is installing boilers that shouldn't be and using my name/ company name as a gains for their work and telling people I'll sign it off for them. This is FALSE. I do not do this and would never do so. Contact me for more info if needed.

Someone else is installing cheap boilers with 5 year warranties. I've spoken to the company about this and the warranty will only stand if the boiler is serviced yearly and winterised correctly/professionally. So don't get sucked into this just for the price. You could still come unstuck when needed.
