Spot your brand 🔎…
As Delego are getting ready for MIPIM 2026, we opened up our ‘drawer of cards’ in the office, and ended up taking a walk down memory lane.
For 10 years now (😮Heather Syers-Wollen), our team members have been going out to Cannes for MIPIM, and every single year new connections are made – with first impressions leaving lasting memories.
As technology and networking evolves, many have tried differing approaches for exchanging contact information, with novel and modern solutions including carrying a single ‘tap-able’ tag, or flashing you a QR code to scan, but the truth is, for us, nothing can replace the tactile and memory-jogging ritual of shuffling through all the business cards you find in your pocket from the day before.
As you turn over each of these business cards (flipped for people’s privacy), you will find many of them have the person’s photo on, and/or hand written scribbled notes containing details of projects discussed and reasons to re-connect - something not done with a digitally saved number in your phone’s contacts (never to be remembered is actually there) 🤔.
Many of these people have changed roles from these companies over the past decade, and a lot of these brands have completely changed identity, but one thing still remains the same - we love a business card, and we are looking forward to receiving more of them!
