Not every day is spent repairing appliances...

This week we stepped away from the tools for a few hours and spent the day creating new content for our website and marketing materials.

The finished photographs won't be ready for a couple of weeks while Nick works his magic, but we thought we'd share a few behind-the-scenes moments from the day.

From coffee stops and team photos to trying our best to look natural in front of the camera, it was a great opportunity to showcase the people behind East Coast Appliances.

Many of you will already be familiar with Nick at Thinksay Creative Communications Ltd work. He designed our logo, built our website and is now helping us create a library of professional photographs that better showcase our team and the business.

As a local family-run business, we're proud that when you contact us, you're dealing with real local people who genuinely care about providing a reliable service across Colchester and the surrounding areas.

Washer dryer tripping the electrics?

We attended this repair after the customer reported the appliance was repeatedly tripping the electrics during use.

Before dismantling the appliance, our engineer carried out electrical testing and confirmed a fault on the dryer heating element circuit.

The washer dryer was then stripped down, the faulty heating element was replaced, and the visible lint build-up around the heater area was carefully cleared while the appliance was apart.

The machine was then reassembled and fully tested, with the washer dryer safely restored back to normal operation.

If an appliance is tripping the electrics, it is always best to have it properly tested before using it again.

Washing machine making a loud banging noise or the drum feeling loose?

This integrated washing machine had suffered a failed drum support shaft, causing the drum assembly to collapse internally. Unfortunately this is not a small repair and required a complete tub assembly replacement to safely restore the appliance.

Our engineers fully dismantled the machine, removed the damaged assembly and fitted a brand new replacement tub before testing the appliance back into normal operation.

Repairs like this show why proper diagnosis matters. What may sound like “just noisy bearings” can sometimes be a much larger internal failure.

Washing machine completely dead with no power?

We attended this Indesit washing machine repair after the appliance stopped turning on entirely. No lights, no response, completely dead.
After testing, we found the fault was caused by a failed door lock and a damaged power module. The faulty components were replaced and the machine was safely restored back to working order.

Faults like this are often mistaken for a completely failed appliance, but in many cases they can still be repaired.
