Colbea Business Support & Start-Up Services supporting North Essex. About Colchester Business Centre.

Colbea is a not for profit organisation dedicated to helping businesses in Essex start, grow and thrive. Our sole aim is to help improve the economic prosperity of the region. We offer:

-Serviced office suites at two Colchester sites.

-Flexible space and ‘easy in easy out’ rentals within a modern business incubation environment.

-Business advice for start-ups and existing businesses.

-Confidential business advice from accredited professionals
-Business Training.

-Business and vocational training provided in partnership with skilled business trainers/organisations. Our business advice services are either free of charge or heavily subsidised. This is made possible through the generous support of local councils in Colchester and Tendring and by sponsorship from other businesses in Colchester. Colbea is a member of the National Enterprise Network (NEN), which advises the Government on business enterprise and entrepreneurship.

On Tuesday this week, Colbea's Marketing and Event Assistant Isabella Lish attended Tendring4Growth's Content Creation Workshop, hosted at Wix Village Hall.

This workshop featured insight about Content Strategy from Co-founder of JASocial Suite, Abbie Hartley. And Canva tips & tricks from Aomyi Parsons, founder of Designs.152.

It was a great opportunity to gather knowledge on how she can progress in her role at Colbea, and gained more confidence in:
1. Working with AI, not against, in creating captions and asking for ideas on posts.

2. Key questions to think about when posting (How much time do I have in the week? Which content has done well?)

3. Knowing her way around creating content for Colbea on Canva.

We are proud to see Colbea get involved with the local Tendring Community!

Tendring4Growth’s Jobs & Skills Fair returned to the Princes Theatre in Clacton-on-Sea, bringing together 40+ exhibitors and local people looking to find a new job, develop their skills or explore a new career path. 📈

Colbea’s Deputy CEO, Parris Andrews, attended the event, representing Colbea and strengthening our connection with the businesses and organisations that make up the Tendring community.

On Monday this week, Colbea's Marketing and Events Assitant, Isabella Lish hosted Colbea's Guide to Grants and Funding Workshop at the LifehouseSpa & Hotel. 😶‍🌫️

The workshop was insightful and it was great to see so many businesses network with one another. 🗣️

One of Colbea's Business Advisor's- Graham Johnson led the session, discussing topics of:
1. Which funding to apply for and what does the right funding depend on.
2. Contingency factors of external impacts.
3. What your business plan should outline.
4. Real world Pricing Strategies.

Colbea were pleased to host the Championing Start-Ups with Tendring4Growth and Tendring District Council on Tuesday 29th September. 🎤

Bringing together local businesses, entrepreneurs and aspiring founders, we heard from:
