❌We’ve mentioned before that shooting clay pigeon targets alone isn’t a comprehensive Counter UAS training system. While clay pigeons have a place in training for Counter UAS, they’re primarily only suitable for use in the initial phases of training to teach tracking and lead application.

🔎A full-spectrum training system should encompass find/detect, identify, ranging and engaging processes. Clay pigeon targets offer a limited 3-5 second window of opportunity along a predicted flight path with a projectile constantly losing speed.

✅The PlusOne drone target array is suspended from your carrier drone and is scalable and configurable to represent small and medium UAS. It replicates UAS movements including flight behaviour and unpredictability.

🧩Each target drone component is individually replaceable via quick click connectors. This makes it cheaper and less of a security risk compared to using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) drones as targets. Each component can be filled with coloured marker powder providing instant visual hit feedback. Using multiple colours enhances training by categorising hits (mobility kill, complete kill).

Our next Level 3 First Response Emergency Care Course will take place at our Training Centre in Colchester, Essex, from Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July.

Ideal for those providing event medical cover or roles such as door supervisors, close protection operatives and security guards, as well as those working in high-risk environments including the military, power stations, offshore renewable energy, agriculture and manufacturing settings.

This course is taught by our medical lead, Louie, a highly experienced and active Paramedic.

🔺 A fantastic week at the Danish International Sniper Competition (DISC 2026) in Borris, Denmark.

🔺 DISC continues to set the benchmark for what a military competition can achieve when it’s backed by people who genuinely care, including instructors from their school, properly resourced, and delivered by experienced professionals. The UK could definitely learn a thing or two (not a dig at those who voluntold to deliver the UK Comp), but it’s no secret that’s it’s massively unsupported!

🔺 With 32 teams from 13 nations, no entry fee, and multiple stages running simultaneously, it’s an outstanding example of international collaboration and knowledge sharing.

🔺This year’s focus on Counter-UAS and drone integration challenged teams to adapt their thinking—an increasingly critical capability as drones continue to shape the modern battlefield; with reports of as many as 12,000 drones per day above single locations in Ukraine!!!

🔺 For TACSURE, it was an equally productive week. We officially confirmed our partnership as the exclusive UK distributor for , bringing a realistic Counter-UAS training solution to the UK - shooting clay pigeons is not the answer to addressing this threat! It’s unrealistic, and creates a false sense of security! We also met with our friends from to discuss the continued development of the target system, the expansion of their other target lines, and their new operating system! We also got to meet with other vendors that have opened up opportunities to address other marksmanship focused operational capability gaps — more on that soon.

🔺 A huge thank you to everyone who made DISC 2026 such a success, especially the legend that is (and his family and their amazing hospitality, again!). Time for a short reset with the family before key members of the team deploy again.

🔺Final preparations ready for our Highfield Level 4 Certificate in Education Training Course are almost complete

🔺 The Level 4 Course is aimed that those people working in, or preparing to work in roles within an education and training sector

🔺 Throughout the Course learners will cover Roles and Responsibilities, Preparing Teaching Sessions, Delivering Teaching Sessions, Assessing Learning, Incorporating the Use of Resources, Preparing for the Coaching Role, Preparing for the Mentoring Role, and working with 14-19 year olds in the Learning Environment
