Claire is Chief Officer of Partners in Care, bringing 20 years of experience in adult social care, workforce development and sector transformation, with a strong focus on championing independent providers and amplifying the sector’s voice locally and nationally. She began her career there as an apprentice and rose into senior leadership, before moving to Skills for Care where she led major national programmes, including the adoption of the Care Workforce Pathway. With expertise in strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and digital innovation, Claire works closely with partners across government and the care system to drive sustainable change and improve outcomes for communities.

Patsy (she/they) has had a varied career including in health and social care, adult education and research. A social worker by training, having worked for ten years in Adult Social Care before moving to the third sector, Patsy has spent the last six years working for and with LGBTQ+ organisations on both a paid and advisory basis.

Sian is a highly experienced Registered Social Worker, Best Interest and DoLS Assessor and, in a lengthy career, has been Head of Safeguarding and Head of Adult Social Care for a number of Local Authorities. The first in our line up of seminar speakers at our FREE Social Care CPD Day is Karen Finch-Burke RGN.

A highly experienced Registered Nurse for 26 years, Karen has spent the last 16 years developing, delivering, coordinating and evaluating palliative and end of life care education and clinical support for individuals and organisations who care for people who are palliative/
approaching end of life. This has included delivering both the GSF and Six Steps programmes, working with the University of Chester delivering modules for their degree programme, supporting local hospices and care homes with education and clinical supervision, and developing study days and courses, including a 7-week care assistant’s EoL course.
