Another Busy & Rewarding Week! 🚤❤️
What a week! It was fantastic to be involved in Llandudno RNLI’s Family Open Day last weekend as a crew member, with a brilliant community turnout and impressive demonstrations from the RNLI crew/boats, HM Coastguard and RAF Valley rescue helicopters. Great to see so much support for the RNLI! 🚤🚁❤️
Monday brought another valuable evening of RNLI crew training, keeping skills sharp, building confidence and, most importantly, helping keep our crew and the community safe. 💪

Another three CPR & AED awareness sessions were also delivered by the Llandudno Rotary Club volunteers, helping more local people gain potentially lifesaving skills. ❤️💚

Alongside the volunteering, I also visited a client to support their health & safety accreditations, business opportunities and reporting systems, using accident, near-miss and customer complaint data to identify trends and opportunities for continual improvement.
Busy week. Great learning. Positive impact! 💚

Safety culture doesn’t disappear when people work remotely - it just looks different. When teams aren’t in the same building, the risks change: poor ergonomics, isolation, blurred boundaries, digital fatigue, and issues that go unnoticed because no one is physically present to spot them. What a busy and rewarding week it's been. The week started last Sunday morning with RNLI training, followed by our regular Monday evening session. Continuous training like this helps us stay ready to respond when called upon, and to keep developing the skills we need. Alongside my RNLI volunteering, this week I worked with one client on a range of health, safety and training activities, including health and safety inductions for two new engineers, and reviewing company policies and procedures, along with supporting with their SSIP membership/accreditations. That day, I made it Donut Day too!
The following day was with another associate where I completed their annual monitoring for their first aid training as an instructor. This annual quality assurance process helps maintain high standards of training and ensures instructors remain current with the latest First Aid Award (FAA) requirements and the Resuscitation Guidelines.
And to top it all off, we finally got the keys to our new home in Rhos-on-Sea, after nearly two months waiting for the land registry process, it's a fantastic feeling!
A week full of learning, supporting others, maintaining professional standards, and ending with some very special personal news.
Here's to continuous learning, maintaining high standards, supporting others, and embracing new beginnings.

Wow, it's been a busy and rewarding week, beginning with our weekly RNLI training last Sunday morning and Monday evening, where this week my focus was on essential skills including knots, fire extinguishers, and launch and recovery procedures. This week I was even provided my own cupboard, was so excited as I'm still a newby in the team. Continuous training is vital to maintaining the standards needed to respond safely and effectively when called upon.
The week also included volunteering as a Defibrillator Guardian for Llandudno Rotary Club, checking community defibrillators to help ensure they remain ready for use in an emergency. Llandudno Rotary Club were also asked if we could provide CPR & AED (Defibrillator) training for a local Bowling Club in Deganwy, and this was completed this week. The attendees provided positive feedback for this session and the trustees have asked for additional first aid training in the near future.
Lastly, as part of my health and safety consultancy work, I spent some time with a client reviewing their first aid risk assessments, fire emergency plans and office risk assessments, while also planning the renewal and additional first aid and fire marshal training across the organisation.
It has been a rewarding week that reinforced the value of volunteering, preparation and helping to keep people safe in both the workplace and in our community.

Yesterday, I completed two site visits for my client alongside their Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, visiting their clients facilities in Preston and Chester.

It was great to see high health and safety standards being maintained at both sites. Regular site visits play a vital role in facilities management, helping to identify potential hazards, ensure statutory compliance, monitor the condition of building assets, and confirm that maintenance activities are being carried out safely and effectively.

By taking a proactive approach through routine inspections and working closely with clients and engineering teams, we can reduce risks, prevent accidents, protect building occupants, and maintain safe, compliant environments for everyone.

Another productive day, with health and safety remaining at the forefront of effective facilities management.

It’s been a busy few days since returning from holiday on Sunday.

Monday began with my community role as a Guardian with the Llandudno Rotary Club, carrying out checks on local defibrillators to ensure they are fully operational, up to date, and ready for use in any emergency situation.

This was followed in the evening with a 4-hour training session at our RNLI Station. The Inshore Lifeboat was launched using the Bobcat, with training covering launch and recovery, hand signals and VHF communication, vessel and engine checks, GPS and electrical systems, plus refuelling, pressure checks, and thorough cleaning to ensure the boat was ready for the next shout.

Tuesday was spent with a client reviewing policies and procedures, meeting with directors and HR, and discussing training priorities, budgets, and opportunities across both the offices and engineering teams, and lastly in the afternoon completing 2 new starters' health & safety inductions.

Today, was focused reviewing some of the health & safety training and training needs for my client to ensure the training provided for their teams were appropriate and relevant. Here, I was able to take the opportunity to complete some CPD for myself to include asbestos awareness, health and safety for employees, and driver awareness. CPD is so important as it keeps health and safety professionals current, compliant, and able to protect people through best practices.

A full-on start to the week, but great to be back supporting clients, contributing to community safety, and continuing professional development.

Today I'm out and about carrying out checks on our community defibrillators as the Guardian for Llandudno Rotary Club.
Regular inspections help ensure these life-saving devices are accessible, operational, and ready to use in an emergency.
Every minute counts during a cardiac arrest, and a working defibrillator can dramatically increase a person's chance of survival.
It's a small task that can make a life-changing difference to our community.

Taking time off is essential for our wellbeing and mental health. Holidays and breaks help us recharge, reduce stress, and spend valuable time with family. When we return refreshed, we are more focused, productive, and resilient at work. Looking after ourselves benefits both our home life and our professional performance.
