So excited to start working with Shipston Vets in the next few weeks helping some very special animals to feel better!!

We have some exciting news..... WE HAVE A NEW PHYSIO STARTING!

Holly is a Level 7 qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist (MSc VP), she studied her post-grad at Writtle University College and graduated in 2022. Holly has worked in the thoroughbred industry her whole life and took to Vet Physio as a way to further her career but found that it was the canine side that quickly became equally as fulfilling as the equine aspect.
Holly has always had gun dogs (Springer Spaniels mainly) and has treated plenty of your typical cases (CCLR both post-op and conservative where appropriate; spondylosis; general aches and pains from shoot days as well as puppy development advice). However, nothing is quite as heartwarming as treating the very important golden oldies and being one part of a support network when it is needed. Holly has her LASER, PEMFT, TENS, NMES, Thermotherapy, Kinesiology Training and a wide arsenal of remedial exercise equipment to use when necessary along with advice for potential home adaptations and therapy / rehab plans.

If you are interested in booking a physio appointment, please speak to reception on 01608 661232 or email [email protected] (For non-registered patients, we will require a vet referral).

The tale of an ex NH racehorse when tasked with staying in one field when the grass is always greener

Lovely Hugo showing that even at 21 years old he can still keep things interesting - finding him in someone else's field after a day's work was not what I expected the find. Nor, the layer of skin he was missing when I did find him

Blue and Red/Infrared light to the rescue to help with the healing thanks to .therapy.tech

Winter first aid is so important and can always be given a helping boost with therapeutic agents like my beloved photobiomodulation

A moment I wished I had caught on camera πŸ“Έ

Hugo (20y exracehorse) came to me and placed first his head in my hands for some cranial work and then moved to the side to do some manual work on the very deep set scar tissue (confirmation of shark fin withers to thank for that) , placing his scapular directly in front of my hands

This is the horse that refuses to release when I finish his treatments - he is so set in his watcher role of herd mentality and his TB antics that he always wants to protect himself

To be able to capture one release is very rare but has become more frequent since having regular physio treatments every few months for maintenance.

His mindset and movement have been greatly improved and the connection he has with me is much deeper!

Anyone with older animals can appreciate the aches and groans that come with aging and just one of the things we can offer is a little bit of ease of this - keeping them mobile and managing discomfort. Remedial plans help to maintain the work done by a physio for ongoing benefits and I love to be able to see the older animals doing so well under my care!

If you would like your dog or horse (old or young) to unveil and keep their best selves for as long as they can. Please drop me a message and I'd love to have a chat πŸ•πŸŽ

Finally all the hard work has paid off πŸŽ“

This one will go well next to my first class honours from RAU in Bloodstock and Performance Horse Management - hence why I love working with both my maintenance horses and top level athletes as I'm able to advise on a range of management aspects alongside my physio treatments

Many thanks again to everyone who has supported me (you all know who you are) and I can't wait to see every in a few weeks time for graduation

LED and IR therapy even when I'm on holiday

Right light and infrared for pain on a OA stifle for Mumbles and a wound for Figgy

Blue light before for a little added antibacterial boost

The .therapy.tech Lumina is perfect for travelling as I don't have to carry around my huge laser for top up treatments like these

Masters thesis complete βœ…

Finally able to see the back of this 90 page document that has meant client openings have been minimal over the past few months

Some interesting outcomes that I will be using going forward with my equine clients and of course the legendary Oh Crick had to feature multiple times

Figgy has come home to her own thermotherapy πŸ”₯

Nice to come home to a warm fire after a day's work. Hope everyone is doing OK during the cold

There are still appointments left if anyone would like a winter MOT, rehabilitation or performance preparation for their animals. So important to make sure everything is in order ready for a new year of having fun!
