This morning, we headed over to The Wheatsheaf Sandbach, where TalbotsLaw were our hosts for the first Thursday Thirty of the month.

It was great to see our members coming together, catching up, making introductions and building new connections. We also welcomed new members to the Chamber, and it was excellent to see those first connections taking place throughout the morning.

We heard from Paul Woolliscroft and Sara Pickerin, who gave us an insight into the services Talbots Law offer and their locations across the region. Sara also introduced us to Talbots Rural and explained how the team can support farming families, rural businesses and future generations.

A big thank you to the team at Talbots Law for hosting us!

Next up, our second Thursday Thirty of September takes place on the 24th September, hosted by The Petty Pool Trust. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there.

This morning began in the best way possible - coffee, pastries, and meaningful networking.

We were delighted to be hosted by Chaffinch Document for July’s Thursday Thirty, and once again it proved to be a fantastic event filled with insight, new connections, and engaging conversation.

We heard from Alastair Machin, who delivered an informative presentation on how Chaffinch started, what they offer, and the wide range of specialist services they provide.

A big thank you to Chaffinch for putting together such a great morning, and to everyone who joined us.

We are looking forward to our next meeting in August. Further details will be shared with members closer to the time.

Last Thursday, Liz had the pleasure of attending the British Chambers of Commerce Annual Global Conference 2026 which focused on one central theme: Delivering Growth.

She joined Sarah Bailey, Carol Vella and Carol Dolan from our Affiliate Chamber, West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce, for a full day of insightful discussion, debate, and collaboration across the business community.

A highlight of the day was hearing from Shevaun Haviland Director General at British Chambers of Commerce, alongside political leaders and industry professionals, all sharing perspectives on the practical steps needed to deliver sustainable growth in today’s rapidly changing economic landscape.

Across a series of panel discussions and breakout sessions, there was a strong focus on the real drivers of growth - particularly skills development, AI adoption, and how businesses are adapting to new technologies.

The conversations around artificial intelligence were especially thought-provoking, exploring not only how AI is already transforming the way businesses operate, but also what the future workforce, productivity, and opportunity landscape could look like in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Overall, it was an extremely valuable day with plenty of food for thought, and important takeaways from the discussions on how businesses, policymakers, and chambers can work together to support growth in a practical and future-focused way.

We had a fantastic day yesterday at Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club for our 2026 Annual Golf Day ⛳️

A huge thank you to our Headline Sponsor, IronMarket Risk Management, for supporting the event. We were once again lucky with the weather, and it was great to see so many of our members enjoying a day of golf, networking and friendly competition.

Thank you to Reliance Medical Ltd for sponsoring the Putting Competition, which was made even more entertaining by a few extra challenges from the Pro Shop! We are also grateful to hole sponsors Heamar Company Ltd.

We were delighted to welcome our Charity of the Year, North West Air Ambulance Charity. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised an incredible £635 which will contribute to our overall fundraising total to be presented next March.

A final thank you to the team at Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club for looking after us so well, and to Terry for keeping registrations and scoring running smoothly.

We are already looking forward to doing it all again in 2027!

A full report will be available in our next Chamber Magazine.

This morning’s Thursday Thirty Networking Event was both inspiring and incredibly insightful.

We were delighted to be hosted by North West Air Ambulance Charity at The Space Congleton, where we heard from Volunteer Adrian Steinkamp and Senior Fundraiser Danny Daynes. Their powerful presentation gave us a glimpse into the vital work carried out by the Air Ambulance crew each and every day.

Hearing first hand how donations directly support this life-saving service was truly impactful and highlighted just how important community support is in helping them continue their incredible work.

We are proud to support a wide range of amazing charities through our events, and mornings like this are a reminder of the difference that fundraising, awareness, and community connections can make.

A huge thank you to Adrian and Danny for sharing their time and experiences with us.

At the end of April, we were pleased to host a post-economic update event with Chamber members, Handelsbanken.

We heard from Senior Economist Daniel Mahoney and FX & Interest Rates Specialist Thomas Barker, who shared their expert perspectives on key themes including growth trends, inflation, interest rates, and the economic outlook for the months ahead.

It was fantastic to see so many attendees join us for such an insightful morning, with plenty of thought-provoking questions and discussion throughout.

A big thank you to the team at Handelsbanken Wilmslow for their continued support of the Chamber and their fellow Chamber members in delivering such a valuable event.
