This was at the start of my career in licensed security when I was working at Yate's, Newcastle-under-Lyme. By this time I had almost 2 years experience in non licensed security, working as at steward at Stoke City Football Club, Port Vale FC and Sheffield United as well as doing a few events and concerts.
Not long after I started working on the doors I realised one thing, the amount of customers being asked to leave the venue when the only thing they did was have a bit of a autism meltdown or adhd over load, but the others I was working with assumed they were under the influence of something and refused to even listen to the customer or there friends trying to explain what was happening but also wouldn't listen to me as I was a rookie and had "no experience".
Yes ok, I only had about 10 weeks of door experience by the time this video was done but it was in almost every venue I was working on after this. After about two and a half years in working on the doors I realised one thing. I could start up my own security company go self-employed and also when I hired any staff I can put them through course's to better understand the difference between a meltdown or over load and someone who is actually under the influence and so they don't ask the wrong ones to leave and just interact with them to distract them and give them one thing to focus on as it actually helps.. it's always been hard living with ADHD and autism so I know what they are feeling and going through and if I can pass that knowledge on with knowing what they can do and what not to do then why should I.. so after a lot of looking into things like what I needed and what I had to do on the 26th of February 2025 Knights defence security LTD was born and the in the private security industry began..
