Viewing is open today, from 9.30am until 5pm.

Come down to the saleroom in Congleton and have a proper look before you bid. Everything is set up, photographed, catalogued and ready to be sold, from an alien globe, to a full music studio, to 19th-century Chinese porcelain and first edition hardback books. No appointment needed, just pop in any time between 9.30am and 5pm.

New to auctions and not sure where to begin? We put together this quick walkthrough of exactly how it works, from browsing to bidding to bringing your item home.

Step one, find something you love. Keep an eye on our email updates and socials for what is coming up, or pop into the auction room in Congleton and have a look around in person (on scheduled days only)

Step two, get registered. Speak to the team at the front desk and they will set you up with an account.

Step three, view the lots. Wander the auction floor, and if you want to know more about a particular piece, just ask, whether that is JB on furniture and collectables, Curtis on jewellery and watches, Neil on comics, vinyl and hi-fi, or Dave on cameras and instruments.

Step four, place your bid. You can bid in person on the day, bid online through our website or EasyLive, leave a telephone bid if you really don't want to miss out by that annoying bid or finally leave a commission bid with the office and we will bid on your behalf up to your limit. Our two-day auctions start Friday and Saturday at 9.30am.

Step five, collect and pay. Won your item? Pay by card or bank transfer, and our porters will help carry it out to the car - or alternatively you can arrange a courier to collect on your behalf.

That is it, no jargon, no stuffy formality, auctions really are for everyone, and it's easier to buy/sell than ever.

A quick heads up for everyone, our saleroom will be closed on Monday 31st August for the bank holiday.

This is the room a full week before the sale, set up and dressed, before a single lot has even been catalogued or photographed. You are seeing it before we have properly seen it ourselves.
