Do Business Network (DBN) is the leading networking group in the Derwentside area and currently has a membership of around 125 local businesses. Our members include small, medium and large businesses in the Derwentside area, some of which have been established for many years and are nationally recognised names and some of which are just starting up. At DBN we believe that networking should be rela

xed and informal and this is how our monthly virtual meetings are structured. As well as exchanging business information and new ideas, we laugh a lot and have fun!. Our members have built long standing relationships and friendships through contacts they have made via the Network.

Kaffeehaus Coffee Roasters has been nominated for the Retailer of the Year award, and it is a recognition that is thoroughly deserved.

Over the last six years, they have consistently delivered exceptional quality and service to the local community and beyond. As valued members of the Do Business Network, we have seen firsthand the dedication and hard work they put into their business every day.

Winning this award would be a fantastic milestone for them, but they need our collective support to make it happen.

If you have enjoyed their artisan coffee, visited their roastery, or supported them on their journey so far, please take a moment to cast your vote. Supporting brilliant local businesses like Kaffeehaus strengthens our regional economy.

As we head into the second half of the year, it is the perfect time to look back at what the Do Business Network (DBN) community has achieved across the North East over the last six months. The economic climate isn’t easy for small businesses right now, but the answers we need are almost always in the room when we look for them.

When independent businesses stop working in isolation and start collaborating, the commercial and community impact is massive.

Here is a snapshot of what peer-to-peer support has delivered so far this year:

A huge congratulations to Bernhard & Carina of Kaffeehaus Coffee Roasters on celebrating six years in business πŸ₯³

Over the last six years, they have built a fantastic reputation for delivering exceptional quality, artisan coffee. As long-standing members of the Do Business Network, it has been a pleasure to watch their growth, dedication, and impact on the local business community.

Supporting Our Regional Food, Drink,
and Hospitality Sector

At last month's networking meeting, we were joined by Steve Wheaton and Ian Pilkington from Food & Drink North East (FADNE). They introduced an exceptional support package designed specifically to help local businesses thrive over the next three years: the Rural Growth Programme, Food & Drink Business Support.

Supported by the North East Combined Authority and North East Mayor Kim McGuinness, this fully-funded programme is built to strengthen, connect, and scale the entire food, drink, and hospitality ecosystem across our region.

At our recent networking meeting we welcomed Allison Dore from Hello Friday Consulting as our guest presenter. Allison delivered an insightful session focused on a critical challenge that many businesses face without even realising it: lead leakage.

Many business owners believe their primary marketing challenge is generating new leads. However, the presentation highlighted that 79% of marketing leads never actually convert. This failure to convert rarely stems from the quality of the leads themselves; instead, it occurs because businesses lack a structured system to capture and nurture them.

Read our blog post to learn how to stop loosing the leads you've already earned πŸ‘‰ https://bit.ly/49QGdNd
