You’re not stuck. You’re split.

One part of you wants to go all in — publish the ONE thing, put up the price, be visible.

The other part wants to stay safe — not be judged, not get it wrong, not look like you’re copying someone else.

And those two parts are running at the same time.

That’s not a motivation problem. That’s not a strategy problem. That’s not even a confidence problem.
That’s a conflict problem.

And here’s the thing nobody tells you — consuming more content doesn’t solve it. Every new expert, every new framework, every new strategy just gives the cautious part of you another reason to wait.

The doom scrolling. The comparing. The “I’ll start properly next week.”

It’s not laziness. It’s protection.

Your business stalls not because you don’t know enough — but because two parts of you are pulling in opposite directions, and neither one is winning.

When your desire for growth becomes genuinely bigger than your need for safety — aligned action becomes surprisingly easy.

That’s the actual work.

One thing that has been coming up for me recently is that I’ve now been in the UK for nine years, and I still sometimes question whether building a business as a foreigner is harder than it would be if I were building it in my native language, German.

I’d say my English is fluent, but expressing my thoughts is something I still struggle with at times. It’s one thing to speak another language, but it’s another thing entirely to communicate exactly what’s in your head, especially when you’re talking about ideas that really matter to you.

I actually think this is one of the reasons I haven’t shown up on camera more. I’ve been contemplating joining the YAP Challenge, and I still have a week to decide.

Part of me feels that it’s time.

I don’t just want to help people professionalise their businesses and become the business mentor I know I can be. I also think we need to connect more as humans. Especially now, in a world where AI is making everything feel so polished and, sometimes, a little fake.

People connect with people.

So maybe it’s time to tell my story as well.

Yesterday’s reel about my late-night Instagram doom scrolling wasn’t really about social media.
It was about what was happening underneath.

We often mistake symptoms for problems.

❌ Doom scrolling.
❌ Overthinking.
❌ Buying another course.
❌ Tweaking your website.
❌ Waiting until you feel ready.

None of those are usually the real issue.

What’s often happening is that two parts of you want different things at the same time.

One part wants to grow your business, be visible, charge more, and finally put your work into the world.

Another part wants to keep you safe from judgement, rejection, failure, or getting it wrong.

Both parts are trying to help you.

One is pulling you towards growth.
The other is pulling you towards safety.

That’s why simply learning another strategy rarely solves the problem.

Over the past few years, through my certification in Alyssa Nobriga’s coaching methodology and my own journey into self-employment, I’ve come to see that every block has a positive intention. Until you understand what your mind is trying to protect you from, you’ll keep treating the symptoms instead of resolving the real issue.
