Recycling in Finham As a family, we are looking to recycle more and hope that by offering to collect difficult-to-recycle items locally, we can make a difference locally.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Due to a family crisis, I have decided to temporarily close the recycling bins as of today.

My son has been very ill in hospital since January and, whilst he is now getting better, it will be a long, slow journey, requiring much support. As a result I currently have neither the time, nor the energy to process the recycling.

There is another recycling centre Michelle Mcmanus in Longford if you wish to continue recycling, or you can keep it at home and I’ll let you know when I feel able to reopen.

As a reminder, we now only accept:
* Pringles tubes - no other brands or products in similar tubes (we keep getting hot chocolate and bouillon tubs which just have to be thrown away!);
* snack wrappers: biscuits, crackers and cakes;
* bread bags - both plastic and waxed;
* Ferrero Rocher boxes and inserts plus Kinder wrappers;
* lip salve tubes and flexible plastic tubes for personal care e.g. makeup and moisturiser - no toothpaste tubes please!
* Lavazza eco caps.
Please do not drop off anything else - I am still finding toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes in random boxes!! Thanks.

Another Recycling stream is ending - soon there won't be any left!

I have removed the box as I have just sent off a boxful.

Don’t forget this is the last weekend to drop off cheese wrappers.

The Babybel is also closing so please bring any recycling here by 29th November. 🙁

How exciting!! We have officially collected over a tonne of recycling through Terracycle!

Well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed in removing so much rubbish from our Council waste bins 😊

That also takes us to over £100 made for local community groups, so please let me have your suggestions for how I can distribute it.

Some more bad news - both the candle wax streams and the food containers can no longer be collected.

I’ve sent the last of the containers off but if anyone knows what I can do with the wax, please let me know. Unfortunately, we were given no warning and I had already boxed up 25kg to go off! I may need to start making candles 😂😂

Eve and I sorted and packed a fair bit yesterday! 21kg of recycling will be heading off to TerraCycle UK later this week...
