"The first large national retailer to commit to paying UK workers the living wage". A positive move and it's about time more companies became accountable. This should be the MINIMUM a worker is paid. IKEA has announced it will adopt the Living Wage for its staff across the UK - raising pay for Belfast employees to a minimum of £7.85 per hour.

"Northern Ireland has the highest incidence of low pay in the UK (28 per cent) and consequently more working people who require tax credits and housing benefits to supplement their low-paid jobs... If you renamed Housing Benefit and Tax Credits as ‘Landlord and Boss Benefit’, it may be clearer where the money is going and who is really scrounging off the taxpayer."

The good news is we're shifting toward a candidate driven market so companies are going to have to offer more and better terms if they want top talent

It's the little things that count. Don't underestimate the importance of proof reading. Every shortlist will contain a check for spelling mistakes. If you can't double check it when there's a job at stake you won't be invited to interview. http://www.theguardian.com/careers/cv-mistakes
