If you don't know who is moving into the property you are leaving, you can use the Royal Mail’s redirection service. This will ensure that any bills or important post you might need still reaches you at your new address.

You can get post redirected for 3, 6 or 12 months. Even longer if you're still getting a lot of post through after your initial period is up. This service costs from £33.99 (for 3 months) but if more than one person needs their mail redirecting, the price increases

Remember that if mail isn't redirected, you need to call the sender and update them with your new address or ask to be taken off the senders mailing list. It's important to do this so that any bills you don't get and therefore can’t pay don’t damage your credit record or result in you being traced by a debt collection company

Yes. In order to secure your booking we ask for a non-refundable 20% deposit

This allows us to secure the right amount of staff members for your moving date, so that we have the right size team on the day. It also ensures we have the correct amount of vehicles set aside for your move

We will not ask for a deposit from you until you have exchanged contracts with a confirmed moving date. We understand that there can sometimes be delays or hiccups that are not always in your control. This is why we will always do our upmost to accommodate you on our next available date if anything changes. Our T’s & C’s explain everything in more detail

Moving can be stressful enough for us humans, let alone our pets. There are a few things you can do to ensure the transition is smooth & easy for them

1. Arrange a place for your pets to stay if possible on moving day. If this isn’t possible try to keep them in a room/space with minimal activity & noise

2. Register with a new vet in advance if you are moving to a new area

3. Check your pets microchip if they have one so they are registered to your new address & ensure all details are correct

4. If you have a dog, could you take them for walks or visit the location where your new home is so they become familiar with their surroundings in advance?

5. Before you move check things like fences to ensure they are secure. Are there any poisonous plants in your new garden? Install a cat flap?

6. Consider pheromone diffusers. You can get pheromone diffusers that help soothe cats to make the transition less stressful & help them relax

7. Assign someone to be in charge of your pet/pets on moving day to keep an eye on their well-being & look after them

8. Create a safe space in your new home as soon as you arrive before unpacking. This way they can get used to the smells, sounds etc. Perhaps an area or room that won’t be too busy

9. If you have a cat keep them inside for a while. They often need time to adjust & if they are stressed they could bolt & not know where they are

10. Pets are your responsibility. A removals team are not responsible for transporting animals. Ensure you have the space in your vehicle to move them or ask someone you trust. Will you need a secure carrier or harness?

Self-storage is a great option to store your belongings between moves, need temporary storage or during renovations

Storage units are a climate-controlled space in a supervised secure location. Some are really reasonably priced and often have 24/7 access

There are various sizes available & the larger the unit the higher the price. Figuring out what size you want can be tricky so keep an eye out for our self storage size guide

What can you store? Anything from furniture to books, artwork, furniture to electronics. If you want to store special or expensive items such as cash or jewellery a safe deposit box might be a better option

Shop around & keep an eye out for offers. Also consider the location of the storage unit so that you can access it easily. Storage units in built up cities can be more expensive than those in more rural locations

The items you store are your responsibility so it’s wise to insure them against lost or damage

According to Zoopla, rental prices rose by a total 17% throughout 2022!

Supply and demand are really out of kilter. On the supply side, the average London estate agent typically has 17-20 properties for rent on their books. That's down to 10 or less at the moment. With the rise in property prices many people are struggling to buy & more people are looking to rent. The rent shifts link back to lockdown & the sudden drop in demand for rental flats that occurred when London went into lockdown and people couldn’t travel or move. This caused rents to fall by as much as 10-15%!

There is intense competition for rental properties. Viewing levels have increased dramatically over the last year, properties aren’t staying on for long if they make it online at all, due to waiting lists being so big.

So what can you do before you start packing? Here are our top tips:

📦 Consider what you don't need to take with you

📦 What will need careful packing? Do you need bubble wrap or wrapping paper for these items?

📦 Make a priority packing list

📦 Take the time to sift through all your belongings. What’s in those boxes up in the loft or hidden under the bed?

📦 Do you have time to do a car boot sale? Sell some items online? The extra £ could help with moving or decorating your new home

📦 Calculate how many boxes you might need & what sort of sizes. Don’t worry you can purchase all your boxes from us

📦 Think about what else will be useful, such as strong tape, bubble wrap & bags/boxes for keeping nuts/bolts together. We also sell packing materials at Plain Sailing

📦 Don't completely fill large boxes, as they will be too heavy to move

📦 Use sturdy packing boxes, particularly for heavier items

📦 Put all hazardous materials, such as paint, bleach & aerosols into a separate box & keep them away from the rest of your belongings

Absolutely amazing team, Danny viewed house and short notice quick and efficiently and I got the impression nothing was too much effort for him even after answering roughly 16 thousand questions from a 4 year old.
Then dealing with Louise, could not of been easier. She was great to deal with and so understanding of our awkward last minute situation. Then the packers matt and his team were next level amazing, super quick clean and efficient and then the nightmare move which they were absolutely incredible though it all and nothing seemed to be too
much they were incredible, I would happily use again.
I will be recommending to absolutely everyone thank you so much guys. We could not of moved without the entire team
