Here they come! My exciting series of workshops! It is happening next Wednesday.
It's a whole art course but you can join to participate in any or some of them. Starting with 2 portrait drawing introduction sessions in Kirkcudbright on 31 May 2023, with plans to roll it out around Dumfries and Galloway.
Easy to follow lessons that would take you from simple sketches to creating sculptures.
I am Dee, an art tutor and a master in fine arts. I hope you will join me on this creative journey! Places will be limited to maintain a high standard of teaching so don't delay booking.
Both beginners and advanced level creators are welcome. Tools and materials are provided, just bring your creativity - and a photo to work from if you wish.
Please contact me with any enquiries on 07874 703493 and call Fiona at the Wee Pottery on 07955761783 for booking.

Bit of a dilemma. Which one to print. This is a small selection of Roxy music which in turn is a small selection of the full archive. This is going to take longer than I though.

If you know anybody between the ages of 55 and 65 this is their youth, 1979/80. Brian Ferry and Roxy Music live.
This is one from my archive of a years worth of shooting bands. Rod Stewart, Lemmy, Kiss, there's quite a few. Over the next few days I'm going to put an album together then start some printing.
It's film, 35mm film, Kodak, Ektacrome 160 pushed to 320 most likely. The camera, my Nikon FM. Fully manual and I mean fully manual. ISO or ASA, manual, colour temp is the film, shutter, manual, aperture, manual, and finally focus, that was auto. It wasn't. It was manual using, I suspect, a Vivitar Series 1 70 - 210mm F3.5. One of the beauties was that the kit probaly weighed half of what the same would weigh today.
It was a great time in my life. I got to see and shoot bands, 17 years old. So, time for some time travel.

Something new.

Something new.

Here we go! The offical launch of my large format printing page.
PLease share it for me. TIA.
Plain paper up to 60" (1.5M) wide.
Canvas from 10" to 40" (25cm - 1M) wide on an 18mm thick frame.
Epson glossy photopaper up to 44" (1.1M)
Big prints of your own photos or perhaps friends and family. Make your own montage and have it printed up big. Ideal for Christmas presents, birthday presents or just to give a gift.
There will be prints of my own and a whole series of live action shots of bands from the late seventies/early 80's, ideal for anybody who was a teenager in that period. Rod Stewart, Roxy Music, Gary Numan to name but a few.
Wall art. I'll be printing some of my own landsacpe shots onto a self adhesive wall paper to really fill a wall.
Don't forget to check out my photopage s1b.com photography if you see anything you would like a print of then either message me from the page or comment on the photo and I'll get back in touch with you.

I'm not sure if this is an Aurora or light pollution. Given that there is light under the clouds in the distance and a lack of movement I'm going light pollution. The next question then is from where? The nearest conurbation from that poition looking north is Kilmarnock, possibly Glasgow. Kilmarnock is 75 miles away and Glasgow 100! That's an incredible amount of pollution imagine if there was more cloud to reflect it? I'd love a dark skies day where we turn all our lights off. All of them for an hour so we can see how dark it really gets.
