Wydale Front Mounted Calf Feeders

Due to customer demand, we’ve made several updates to the Wydale Calf Feeders, you may have seen the videos posted by Farming Somerset who kindly helped with the development of the new mounting system.

The feeders can now be ordered with front-mounted hooks, allowing them to hang on the outside of the gate. This makes them easier to use, as there is no need to lift the feeder over the gate or retrieve it after feeding. The gate bars also provide an additional constraint, helping to keep each calf focused on its own teat.

The factory front-mount option includes pre-drilled bracket holes, along with all necessary brackets, fixings and instructions. For customers who prefer the original setup, the existing rear-mounted hook system remains available and continues to be supplied as the standard specification.

We can also supply a retrofit kit to convert standard rear mounted feeders to front mounted and the kit comes complete with instructions and hole templates to make fitting easier for the end user. The standard specification remains unchanged, with hooks mounted at the rear.

We have also switched to a natural rubber teat following very positive feedback from customers who trialled it on our behalf. The new teat slows drinking time slightly and has reduced scours by around 20% for one customer, the customer also reported improved durability compared with the previous version.

Natural rubber teats are now fitted as standard to the 3, 4 and 5 teat feeders. Replacement teats are available under code CT1R – Calf Teat – Natural Rubber and are priced the same as the previous white teats, which remain available under code CT – Calf Teat – White.

We are exhibiting at the UK Dairy Day next week in Telford and will have the new front mounted feeders on display.

If you wish to place an order, please contact your local Agri dealer or you can also order and collect direct from Farming Somerset

Today we’re exhibiting at the RABDF Gold Cup winning Treveale Farm near Truro. What a fantastic facility and really pleased to be here. If you’re visiting, we’re at the end of the main shed near the drop off / pick up point.

We’ve also got the new front mount hook system for our calf feeder range on display. There is a kit to allow the front mounted hooks to be fitted to your existing feeder, no more lifting over the gate makes it much easier to handle.
