Have you ever wondered how horses keep warm during the cold, wet winter months? ❄

Horses have a much wider thermoneutral range than we do, which means they don’t feel the cold in the same way people do. The ambient temperature range in which a healthy adult horse can easily maintain their body temperature is between 5 and 25°C.

When the temperature drops below 5°C horses can warm themselves up in a variety of ways, which you can see below 👇

Please remember that all horses are individuals and there are a number of factors to consider when choosing if your horse needs a rug, and what rug they need.
