On the Hike, we set out for a 4-hour walk, took a wrong turn, and ended up on a 10-hour trek. My shoulders were aching, but we kept going. The view was worth it, but only because we stopped, checked the map, and got back on route.

The lunch reminded me: a business plan isn't just paperwork. It's your map. When things feel off track, pause and use it to guide your next steps.

Tidy your inbox with three rules.

Still drowning in emails? Here's a 3‑rule fix that takes 5 minutes.

If your inbox feels like chaos, these three rules will change your day.

Rule 1: Auto‑file invoices and delivery notes into folders so they don't hit your inbox.

Rule 2: Flag or categorise anything from clients for quick follow‑up. So the emails can move from the inbox to action later and within your agreed service level.

Rule 3: Move newsletters you want to read to a 'Read Later' flag or category and automatically move the email straight to their relevant folder so they don't even land in your inbox. Those you no longer want, unsubscribe, or only keep the latest email and delete the rest.
